Today is Durag Ashtami, the most auspicious and powerful day of the Durga Puja and Navratri Festival....
On this day, Maa Durga, the goddess of Shakti, mother of all creation and protector of the three worlds vanquished all Evil afflicting and attacking Mother Earth and her people by killing the Evil Demon and ridding this earth of her burden. Maa Durga fought for 3 days with the Demons .....today is the day of the victory of good over Evil, of Shakti (or good strength) over the Demons, of valour over deceit ....
And today is the day when our Avdhesh, the ultimate son of Shakti, the very image of valour , courage and power, the embodiment of all things good, will vanquish all the demons surrounding him and his love....today he will do daagad dum dhulai pitai, and we will watch in awe and reverence with bated breath...
he will come as the saviour of Arpita on Mahashtami day and live up to the glory of this day...and prove yet again that goodness, love and principles must always win over bad, deceit , cruelty and hatred. The Demons will perish before our Bahubali as he saves and protects and rescues her from her troubles....
