A very very hearty thank you to all those who commented, and pressed the like tab. And an even more bigger thank you to all those readers who have waited so patiently for the update.

Hello people,

I know you exact thoughts, finally, this girl has had he sense to upload another part. Well, the reason for my absence was college, hostel, followed by recent exams. Anyways, cutting it short, here is the most awaited part. I am not sure if it has turned out the way i wanted it to, and the wya you expected it to, but still, here it is. Its not too long, but this is all i have right now, and about the next update, if it ever comes, God bless me, if i am left alive by you readers.

RECAP:

"Basket, I love you too"

"Armaan, you need not say it, i already know that you love me, i trust you, and your heart, and your eyes, they have been shouting these three words all along, it was just i chose to ignore it and..."

"Marry me Riddhima", Armaan spoke these three words cutting her in between. He saw her face, as the words sank in, he only got a confused cum shocked expression from her.

"What?", she asked, these were the only words out of her mouth.

"Marry me Basket, marry me and be mine, forever, and ever, until eternity, will you marry me Riddhima?", he held her hand as he spoke all the words in one breath.

She seemed to be thinking about something, though for a few seconds, and then spoke,

"There's a problem Armaan, a small, yet very big problem"

PART 23

Riddhima had said it in a way, with just a hint of worry written on her face, that Armaan couldnt decide if she was serious or pulling his leg. He decided to go with the second option, and talked to her with a glint of humour, "Riddhima, stop kidding please. This is a serious topic. I know you might have expected some grand proposal with lights, flowers, decorations, wine, atmosphere, the great Armaan Mallik on his knees, and what not, just like any simple girl. I assure you that you'll get all this too, but for now, just say yes, just once, please!"

Listening Armaan's words, realisation hit Riddhima. Perhpas, she had not been able to explain to him the gravity of the situation. Suddenly, seriousness flooded her face, and words naturally cme out of her mouth, "Armaan, please understand, this is the worst time i would think up of to crack a joke. This little probem has turned very big, in fact, it was always very big. I guess i could not explain it to you. But now, you need to listen to the whole of the story. It all started on the night after the engagement ceremony of Abhi n Nikki, and Rahul and Muskaan. After you all had left, Anjie and me were going to my bedroom, when on our way, we crosssed the study. We heard some voice, when we moved closer, we realised it was dad, talking on the phone, and he seemed to be very happy. What we heard from the conversation, shook the ground beneath us."

FLASHBACK:

"Ji haan, Riddhima aap hie ke ghar ki lakshmi banegi, aap hie ke ghar ki bahu ban kar aayegi wo. Nahi, dariye mat, mere faisle se use koi aitraaz nahi hoga, she wont defy me. Main jaanta hoon ki uske liye kya sahi hai aur kya nahi, like always"

.......................

"Ji haan, main maanta hoon ki aapka beta uska pehla pyaar nahi hai, but trust me, uska pehla pyaar kabhie uske raaste mein nahi aayega. Riddhima will never fail in her duties to you all. She'll be the best wife ever"

.......................

"Aapki taraf se kya, meri taraf se bhi rishta pakka samajhiye, balki, samajhiye kya, rishta pakka hai, mooh meetha kijiye. Haan, aap chahe to abhi us se baat kar sakte hai, but i'll talk to Riddhima, when the right time comes"

.......................

"Ok, phir aap log bhi tabhi baat kar lena, ok samdhiji, bye, good night"

After placing the phone, Shashank moved to the picture of Padma,

"Padma, dekha, hamari betiyaan kitni badi ho gayi hain. Aaj Nikki ki sagayi ho gayi, aur haathon haath, Riddhima ka rishta bhi pakka ho gaya. I know Nikki has chosen the right person for her, but I dont know if i did the right for Riddhima. I have taken such a big decision of her life, without asking he even once, but... but i know he is the best for her. Bas, uski life mein itna kuch hone ke baad, i am scared, if she'll accept this happiness or no. I am really worried for her Padma, though it may seem tot he world that Nikki is the soft and delicate one, while Riddhima is tough internally, as well as externally, but you and i, we both know, she's not that hard as much as she seems. She's very vulnerable Padma, and i dont want anyone to hurt her, she has the right to every happiness of the world, and if i am gifting her that happiness, it is not wrong, is it? I am sure she'll agree to my decision Padma, aand if she doesnt, i'll do anything and everything, to get married to the one i have chosen for her. Just be there with me Padma, like always, i know i cant do it without you"

FLASHBACK ENDS

As she had continued her story, she had moved to stand next to the window, and was staring out at the moon that brightened the sky, as she did not want to see the pain which she was about to give Armaan.

"Dad ne mera rishta pakka kar diya, n i dont know how to react to it. I have ignored it as long as i could, but now, i cant handle it anymore Armaan. I love you, have always loved you, and will continue to do so until the end, but... but i dont know what to tell dad. I just have no idea why it happens to me, everytime, life makes me so helpless. When i yearned for your love, you left me, alone, broken, shattered,and now, when i know you also love me, and we can be happy, forever, my fate doesnt want even that to happen. Tell me, what is my fault in all this, dont i deserve to be happy? What wrong have i done, to get all this in my life? I just wanted to live my life with you, happy or sad, because you make me complete, but, but i dont know, why everything is as such. I am torn Armaan, i am torn, i cant decide what should i do, should i go ahead with the idea of listening to dad's decision of marrying someone else, n make so many lifes unhappy, or should i listen to my heart, disagree with dad's decision, and make life a beautiful dream for both of us. Whichever way i choose, i'll hurt the people i love so much, tell me Armaan, what should i do, tell me! I love you more than anything Armaan, and i wont be able to live without you, please tell me what sholud i do"

Saying this, she started crying loudly covering her face with her hands, and fell on her knees. Armaan, who had a blank face until now, was shaken by the sight in front of him. Although listening to Riddhima, he heard his world going away from him, his heart broke into million pieces, but seeing Riddhima like this, he knew it worse than anything that could happen to him. The Riddhima whom he knew, would never had cried, n in front of some one, no, definitely not. But here she was, opening her real emotions to him. He knew he had to make things alright, he couldnt see his Riddhima in so much pain.

He went closer to her, and settled besides her sitting on his knees. Riddhima seemed to have noticed his closeness, he just knew it, but she was emotionally unstable, and hereby continued crying. Armaan put his hands on her shoulders, and turned her face towards himself. Riddhima was a puppet in his hands, she turned around, but kept crying with her hands on her face. Armaan slowly put her hands down, and cupped her face in his hands. Riddhima's lowered eyes immediately looked up, only to have them locked in the pair of eyes in front of her, which held so much intensity of love, that she immediately stopped crying. After that, none of them spoke a word, it was a conversation of the eyes, as well as the hearts.

Author's Note - The following dialogues are transpiring between Armaan and Riddhima's eyes, and heart, not their bodies. So just get in the mood, and imagine the two souls talk to each other, not bodies, and that too, without words.

Riddhima pleaded to him with her eyes,

'Armaan, please forgive me for making you go through all this'

Armaan patiently replied to this,

'Basket, galti tumhari nahi hai, so please, sorry mat bolo. I know had it been in your hands, we would have been together since long, haapy, having a fairytale ending, but the point is, i dont want a fairytale end. What i want is a fairytale beginning to out love story'

Riddhima put her doubts to him,

'After all this, can we still begin again, do we have that chance, can we put back the past and make our life worth living for love?'

Armaan smiled at this,

'Basket, your dad has just fixed your marriage, you havent been married as yet, infact, ab tak to engagement bhi nahi huyi hai. Because you will get married, only to one person, and that one person, is me, Armaan Mallik. You are my wife-to-be, Mrs Riddhima Armaan Mallik'

Riddhima immediately felt a very good feeling as soon as she heard her probable future name. It was as if the whole life her name had been incomplete, and now, Armaan had done the needful just to make it complete.

'Armaan, aisa hoga na, i'll become (she blushed) Mrs Riddhima Armaan Mallik na, please Armaan, my life wont be anything without you Armaan, promise me Armaan, promise me, that whatever happens, you'll never leave me, you'll make sure we get together, and live with each other, you wont let me marry anyone else...'

Riddhima hadnt even finished her sentence, when Armaan kept his hand on her mouth,

'Dont even think about this Basket, tum sirf meri ho, i'll never allow anyone esle come closer to you, and this, my sweetheart, is a lover's promise. I promise Riddhima, come what may, i'll sort it all out, without hurting the people whom you love, i promise"

Armaan flashed his dimples, which made Riddhima smile. She brouthg up her hands and poked in his dimple, when suddenly, Armaan, who hadnt as yet removed his hands from her face, brought her face closer to his. She saw he intensity of love and passion in his eyes, and unknowingly, she caressed his face, not breaking hteir eye lock.

Her sudden touch to his dimples made him yearn for her, and as an immediate response, he pulled her closer. He was lost in her eyes, and just when she moved her hand over his face, Armaan was rooted to his place. A shiver ran through his spine at her gentle touch. He suddenly realised of how soft her face felt in his hand. She seemed too petite to him, and it felt that he had to take care of his loving princess. He could feel her breath, slow and steady, on his face, and he was sure she could feel him too. He slowly removed his hands from her face, without moving her, and even more slowly, brought himself a little more closer to her.

Riddhima closed her eyes as soon as she saw him coming even more close, she had an ides of what was coming next, and this was her silent consent to him. She could feel that he had come to a still, and his lips were just centimetres away from hers.

Armaan knew her approval as soon as she had closed her eyes, but in doing this, she took awy the object of his fantasy, her beautiful eyes were now closed, and Armaan couldnt see his reflection in them. Irritated by this fact, n wanting to now surprise her, he moved to the side of her face, and planted a kiss on her cheeks. He immediately saw colour flood to her cheeks as she turned crimson.

Riddhima was actually surprised by his kiss, but even more, she felt good, and the thought of this made her blush. She immediately turned around, as her back faced him.

Armaan was in no mood to leave her. She should've known that messing with Armaan Mallik was an invitation to trouble. No sooner had she turned, that he caught hold of her by her waist, n pulled her closer to him, so that her back landed into his chest. Riddhima initially stiffened at the sudden movements, but then she relaxed giving into his touch. Armaan hadnt expected this, he had thought she would atleast fight him once, will give him a hard time, but here she was, all ready just to be with him. This stirred the feelings in his heart, and holding her waist by one hand, he moved the other one on her bare arms, starting from her hand.

Riddhima gasped at his sudden touch, which did not go unnoticed by Armaan, but he could not stop himself now. He brought his face near her hair, and caressed them, taking in her fragrance. Slowly, he moved her hair to one side, adn nuzzled her neck. He planted several kisses here and there, and hence, did not realise when did Riddhima turn back to him again. He suddenly saw her, looking at him, with all the love in her eyes stored for him. A lone tear escaped her eye, which made Armaan stand rooted to the ground. Was it his act, that had made her cry, he thought against it, but he wasnt so sure. Riddhima saw his confusion, and spilling a few more tears, she muttered,

"I love you Armaan, i'll love you till eternity", and saying this, she stood on her toes, brushed her lips with his, and hugged him tightly. Armaan was now highly surprised by her this act, did she actually...... like yeah dude, she did! It was a little difficult for his mind to accept that it was Riddhima, but his heart did accept that it was His Riddhima.

"Happy Birthday Riddhima, i am the luckiest person to be on this place right now, of all the places of the world. I really am!", Armaan spoke, Riddhima lifted her face, and look at him,

"No Armaan, i am the luckiest girl, not only because i have the love of my life right here, but also because that love is you, and no one else. Everyone receives gift on their birthday Armaan, but today, i want to gift you something, as a symbol of my love. Ask whatever you want, and i'll give it to you, i promise"

"Basket, you dont need to prove your love. When you are with me, i want nothing else"

"Please Armaan, mere liye, kuch bhi maang lo, please"

Armaan thought for a while, and came to a conclusion,

"Theek hai, i have decided, if you really want to give me something, then give me one day, one full day out of your life"

Riddhima laughed at this,

"Armaan, stop quoting Veer-Zaara"

"I am also very serious Basket, in your love, hehehehe (he laughed as she smacked him, but he suddenly turned serious, real wala) Riddhima, jokes apart, we dont know what the future has enstored for us. Life mein kya hoga, pata nahi, but this day, i want it to be special, i want it to be ours, just ours. Will you let me live my lifetime with you, in this one day?", Armaan pleaded, and as Riddhima nodded, he again hugged her.

Armaan is thinking - Basket, we havent spoken anything, but i know, our souls have promised themselves to each other. I know my soul has promised to sort everything, and trust me, i'll work it all out.

Riddhima is thinking - Armaan, I know your soul will fulfill its promise, because after all, its you. I wont speak a word about it which shall spoil my, no, actually, our special day.

"So Basket, what you need to do now, is that take out your cell, type a message to Jennifer cancelling all your meetings for the day, as well as all the practices, and tell her that if anyone asks for you, you are leaving the town for some important meeting, a very urgent one, and wont be available the whole day. Your phone will be switched off, and you will be back by tomorrow night, late. Thats it, nothing less, nothing more"

Riddhima nodded he head, and as she fished her pockets for her cell, she found it because of its vibration. The screen flashed a name which brought a smile on Riddhima's face as she attended the call.

"Haan Anjie, bol, ab tu bol sakti hai"

"Thanks a ton babes, and there's no need to worry now, everything's fine. I'll tell you the details later, am taking the day off tomorrow, away from everyone, sabko handle kar lena please. I am sure dad will create a great fuss, not to mention Fatto, Nikki, Abhi and the gang, and and, omg, daddu, Maasi, Maasu, and omfg, Rahul! Anjie, please yaar, kisi bhi tarah se, Mayank aur tu sabko handle kar loge na, please"

"I'll try not to worry, haan, will enjoy and aake tujhe ek ek detail bataoongi, bye, love you"

She pushed the red button, and saw, Armaan was nowhere to be seen. She started typing the instructions quickly and sent them to Jenny, and switched off her cell. Next she thought of going and finding Armaan, but as soon as she moved from her place, she bumped into, offcourse, Armaan, and since Armaan also had no idea about this sudden movement, he fell along with her, while trying to save her. She fell on him, who'd held her by her waist. Riddhima did not want to do anything, except lay there in his arms, and so, instead of making any efforts to get up, she also put her hands around his body, placed her head on his chest, and lied down closing her eyes.

Riddhima was not leaving any chance to surprise him, and once again, he felt blissful as she rested in his arms. He also closed his eyes to enjoy their closeness, listening to each other's heartbeats.

It had been a few minutes, when Armaan was broken out of his trance, due to the buzzing of his cell in his pocket. But this seemed to have no effect on Riddhima, he slowly moved his head, and saw her asleep. He then gently pulled up his phone, and received the call,

"Haan Atul, sab preparations ho gayi, itni jaldi, thanks a ton dude, i couldnt have done it without you. Haan, wo am speaking softly because Riddhima so rahi hai, please Atul, baad mein chidaana, abhi Anjali ko call kar, n ask to her pack n send over Riddhima's belongings, haan, jo useh theek lage, daal degi. And ek baat aur, please ask her to inform Nikki, and... Abhi, ki Riddhima theek hai. Haan, once again thanks a zillion AJ, bye"

He shifted his position very gently, and lifting her in his arms, he placed her on the bed, covered her with the duvet. He sat next to her, kissed her forehead, and played with the tresses which came on her face, an act which made Riddhima smile in her sleep.

"Basket, this one day will be the most special birthday of your life, and the most important one, except for the day we get married, and also the day our first kid is born, and then the second one, and then the third, and......."

Armaan continued talking about his fantasies of his future with her, and later on, fell asleep sitting next to her.

Long tym hun .. hows you? n everything going? gosh! its been so long we talked ..

Anyways, as for the update it was really cute . Loved it . I dnt knw why but have a hunch that Shashank was probably talking abt AR's marriage! i sumhow feel this .. and as for the day, i wonder wat armaan's gonna do ? is he gonna propose her or wat? m so waiting for it ! 😳 .. wat an amazing gift for a b'day it wud be.. !!

YAY am so glad that you are back with the update. man was missing it so much. && wow i love the part, yes, its true i kinda had thought abt collecting chappals to throw at u by the end when i was reading abt shashank's decision but then again when u took the story in such an adorable way ...... i couldnt resist saying that i loved it. && well idk wht shashank does but i simply loved the entire AR convo n feelings n their bond. & yeah m so looking forward for AR day alone.

Please do udpate as time permits u && yes the part was worth the wait.

and THANKS A LOT for updating but since u updated after a long time can u update another part plz
i have lost all my patience and to be honest i seriously cant wait to read the next parts....

last but not the least this is my very first comment on this thread whc is incomplete if i dont appreciate ur hard work.
thanks a lot for such an fab ff and u r doing full justice i wish this could add some brains in the dmg cvs aswell but we atleast have u.........
