Round 2: Javed Ali

Note: A recent enough song for this round for Javed Ali.

Its a nice track by Pritam - totally his kind of composition.

Its quite an unusual track for JA and a pretty tough one at that. The beginning is stellar, fluctuating between low, high, low, high and higher notes and an equally tough music. Great.
As the track progresses, his hard work pays off and voice control is of a high calibre. But toward the end, things do go downhill and sometimes the tempo seems inconsistent and a mix of different early 90s Scandinavian tunes (I listen to a lot of Scandinavian music so I had made out) but is not necessarily well executed.

What was a good beginning does go haywire at the very end but control is regained over sur. Scale variation is another highpoint of this track, tough to compose, OK but equally enjoyable to sing. If only the end was good, would have been close to perfect.

Theme and restrictions aside, it gets a:

8/10.

I like this song, its unique tune and soothing music, esp in the start, are the things worth listening to.. :)

Javed Ali handled the notes efficiently, the high notes are really pleasant to hear.. Expressions; the essence of romance is kept well.. Its a different sort of a song for Javed Ali, yet he has tried his best to make it his own.. Pronunciation is clear, I liked the various stresses he used for singing the lines.. Some hampering and flaws were here and there, but overall, it was a pleasant performance..

Would like to give an 8 out of 10..

Strong singing by Javed Ali once again.


Never heard of this song. Though this album had some good songs. I liked Javed Ali's high pitches throughout this song. His voice is strong and he maintains good control in the high regions. Though they weren't perfect, sometimes it felt like he was just shouting. But otherwise he did great.

And throughout the song, Javed displays good control and there were some parts he really shines. THis is like a 8.5, but I'm just going to round down because I gave his last performance a 9, and wasn't as good.



Rating: 8/10

The song does not bring out the best of Javed Ali here, in fact one of the worst. He is required to go off-tune more than once. Not much effort required for him to sing this song too....not much of emotions required too.
