Neha chose TV over law
While many students would feel that the Delhi-born actress is missing out on a lot on DU life by not being a regular student, Neha, who is currently being seen in " tere liye", feels she doesn't regret her decision. "At least I'm doing what I love. And aren't there enough exciting things I'm getting to experience, which many students can't even dream of at this age? It is a matter of personal choice and I'm extremely elated that I will soon complete graduation," she says. And, had she not been a part of the showbiz industry, Neha would have been a criminal lawyer. "Partly because my mother studied law but never practiced it and also because I think Indian Judicial system needs immediate reforms. It is sad to admit that it takes decades to solve cases in India," she says.
Neha, who recently visited Lakshmi Narayan Mandir in Delhi with co-star harshad chopda, recalls her visits to the mandir as a kid in the city. "I was a school kid when I last came here with my mother. I still remember how my parents would take us for Dilli darshan and make us visit temples. Since I'm a believer in God, each of my religious trip, be it to Kalkaji or Jhandewala Mandir, has brought me inner peace." So is she a God-fearing person? "You can say so and that's why I don't hurt other people. Mantra of my life is – Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Doesn't this explain everything? Wouldn't you respect others because you'd like them to treat you in the same way? I think, if we all follow this, the world will become a better place to live in." Isn't she overtly emotional? "You guessed it right! But it doesn't help much. For, it makes you a vulnerable person and this restricts you from putting forth your judgment sans fear of rejection. Hence, I make a conscious effort to refrain from getting too friendly with people I meet not that often. One might find it strange but I scrutinise people before I commit myself to a long-term bond with them," she says.
Will that be the case while choosing her partner as well? She says, "We think a lot about our ideal partner. Par aisa kahan hota hai ki woh humein mil hi jaye. However, it is important to be on the same page with your partner and for this it is important to know the real you – your personal traits, strong and weak points etc. It is important because we wouldn't like to mess up our lives. Would we?" Naah, Neha, never!
