Elimination of Mumbai's 'Indian idol' contestant figures in Assembly

    The elimination of Amey Date, the contestant in popular reality show 'Indian idol', figured in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly with a BJP member seeking government intervention in stopping the SMS ''racket'' during voting.

    Devendra Phadanvis (BJP) charged that date has been eliminated just because he happens to be Marathi-speaking.
