Ever wondered how can celebrities who have just had his first tiny brush with success, fly in air with inflated egos and throw their weight around unnecessarily. Shaleen Bhanot who was launched years ago by Anuj Saxena in Kulvaddhu tasted success by winning the coveted title of Nach Baliye 4 (not to forget his bouts of migraine just when he would forget his steps and praising the judges incessantly, which was given thumbs down by his critics and fans alike). But what he recently did earned him brickbats from critics from every corner. If the buzz is to be believed he did a blunder recently by throwing a party for Imagine TV's Do Hanso Ka Joda, a show ending abruptly day before, taking the media by surprise as to how come an actor is celebrating the abrupt ending of the show. (We wonder what producer Kavita Barjatya has to say about this). What shocked everyone was that while gyrating to the song of Munni badnam hui of Dabangg, he went on to announce on the mike that its not a rocket science to guess who is the munni of his show, hinting clearly at the main lead Shubhangi Aatre who was absent as she is strictly advised complete bed rest as a result of her pelvic bone dislocation.
Informs an onlooker, ''We were stunned to hear what Shaleen had to say about his co-actor Shubhangi Aatre. He was making mockery of her ill-health and said that he had reported for the shoot even after suffering from food-poisoning while some actors are absent on the last day. He clearly hinted at Aatre as the reason behind the show going off-air. TV industry is already abuzz with rumours of his badmouthing others behind their back. Aatre is a lovely actress and is extremely co-operative with media. An actor who was present in his party on grounds of anonymity told us while hinting at bed ridden Aatre he didn't even think that his own wife is an actress too.''
When contacted, Shaleen refuted the buzz and was surprised to know about the rumours afloat. He said, ''I don't remember having said anything like this. I truly respect and adore Shubhangi who being a mother of one is working so hard. I sympathise with her completely as she has suffered a major injury and is bed-ridden. I can't think of making unsavoury comments at her. As far as cracking jokes and having fun is concerned, we do it all the time. I even took jibes at my director and producer of the show. Even if any of my comments have reached Shubhangi, I am sure she will not mind it and will know that I was just having fun. the song Munni badnam is a favourite among all of us and we had decided to watch the movie together. Apparently, now I have become the Munni who has been maligned the most. I would clearly mention here that I do not hold Shubhangi responsible for the closure of the show as asked by many reporters. it is between channel and the production house and actors shouldn't intervene.''
Talking about throwing a party on teh abrupt closure of the show, he says, ''I believe if you sleep with a smile on your face, you wake up with a smile too.''
We hope Aatre doesn't mind his Munni act.
