Overall Dutta is not an insecure man and he trusts Baaji implicitly that he wouldn't dwell on it.

From what I have observed in people's behaviour, when Love happens, suddenly all the comfortable chatter and bantering is gone, and there is more silence and awkwardness, just like the state Dutta and Nakku are in.

And in such situations, it is common for at least one person in the relationship to be lighthearted, and chummy with everyone or someone in particular. So, the other person wonders, hey what happened? It is not just jealously, it is a confusing state of mind. The other person wonders if he/she is doing something wrong.

In all this awkwardness, the likelihood of overreacting to little things, getting hurt, etc. become more frequent. That's what they call the 'Lover's tiff', comes just as fast as it goes.

Dutta would dwell on it. Not in a suspicious way, but he may start thinking - she returned the gift after Kala and Baaji spoke to her - are they saying something to her that is causing her to think like this? He would not know that Baaji is actually undoing what Kala has done.

Dutta, one last request, please don't buy her "gifts". Those heavy jewellry sets may look great on Kala, but they are just not Nakku's style. Get her something simple, non-ostentatious and elegant like that pendant. That way, you will not overwhelm her.

Indeed. The gifts need to suit her tastes which are like her, simple.

The other points you raised got me thinking that he would be jealous of her comfortableness around Baaji since he has been missing the 'friendship' they shared. They have not actually slipped back into the friendship equation as their relationship is beyond that now and both are very aware of it. Its become more difficult for them to communicate freely.

The problem is that before Naku could evade Dutta's interest in her by shifting the focus onto him and he obliged as his feelings were not at the same level as Naku's. Now when he wants to understand her, she is making excuses and avoiding him as she knows if left along with him for too long, he'll confirm what she's been seeing in his eyes (his love for her). Her own guilt is keeping her in denial and therefore their relationship is stunted until she tells him the truth.

This has become my personal mantra now, every post will end up with 'tell him'...'honesty'..'truth' etc.
