Should betting be legalised in India?

Me - Yes, it should be legalised. Stock trading, commodity trading, trading in forex...all of them are not much different than betting. Legalising betting will earn govt lots and lots of money through taxes, in any case betting is not going to stop so why not regulate it.

I can BET on my life and say NO ..it should not be made legal.....just because something is already happening and will not stop....so it should be made legal....is no argument....come up with something better Deepak😆....

Regulated bookmaking should be allowed, and let government also tax it. It is just like the horse races or gambling - alright in moderation. In many countries betting is a legal activity under regulation.

Over here during sports seasons, I've worked for companies that had informal just for fun betting on winners/scores etc.

Why not control the underground betting industry and earn revenue instead of shunning it completely. Anyone who wants to bet will have to get a betting account (akin to Demat account) which will be linked to your PAN and Bank account. Only online betting will be accepted.
