Chapter 10:Pratigya was very happy; she had a job now and wished that her marriage plans would get postponed for as much time as possible and maybe some miracle might happen. Before going home, she stopped by the lake and sat there to enjoy the cool breeze. Time flew by and she didn't realize it was near sunset, didn't even realize that someone was keeping an eye on her ever since she had sat besides the lake!
Krishna had followed her to the lake, he wanted to talk to her once again, but when he saw her enjoying the breeze and the serene view, he decided otherwise. Tunna n Chandu had gathered information as to why Pratigya had gone in that office, they tried calling Krishna but he had turned off his mobile.
Pratigya knew it was quite late; she hurried towards the next bus stop and realized tht the next bus to her home was supposed to come after an hour. It was already getting late. She couldn't call anyone at home as she had used up her last coin in calling her mother n Samira, didn't own any mobile and was far away from home! Krishna saw her tensed and instantly realized what the matter was'
An auto stopped near her and an old Muslim driver stepped out. 'kaha jana hai beti?'
Pratigya wasn't sure whether to wait for the bus, but she looked at the old man who had an innocent smile on his face. She sat in the auto telling him that she will pay him when they reach home. The driver didn't say anything and drove towards Mamphodganj. Krishna followed the auto at some distance, making sure she reached home safely.
Pratigya told the driver to wait while she brought in money.
She entered the house and Aarushi jumped on her, 'Congrats didi, aapko job mil gai', she seemed to be happier than Pratigya. Dadi sat on the sofa, smiling softly. She didn't like Pratigya going for a job but didn't say anything when she saw how happy everyone was.
Naina came forward and asked Pratigya to close her eyes, once she did so, Naina fed her something. 'Mmmm' halwa' It was Pratigya's favorite, suji ka halwa. Aadarsh was next, he had bought a new black leather bag for her, it had a beautiful flower drawn over it' Aarushi had disappeared to lay down the dinner table, while Pratigya went to seek dadi's blessings.
Pratigya went to wash her hands, when she came back; the dinner table was filled with her favorite Dosa, Idli, Sambhar! She loved South Indian food!
Naina: ye sab Aarushi ne banaya hai
Pratigya : are itni mehnet karne ki kya zarurat thi?
Aarushi: so what di, aaj itna khas din hai, ye to kuch bhi nahi tha' I'm so happy for you!
Meanwhile the Prof kept looking at all of this and felt proud of his kids. What if they weren't very rich in terms of money, but all the love and unity made them richest! Pratigya was about to start eating when she remembered the auto driver who was waiting for the money'
Pratigya : oh! Wo autowale ko rs dena to main bhool hi gai
She hurried to the door, but saw that the man had already left!
Prof: lagta hai wo chala gaya
Pratigya felt very bad, she remembered his face though and decided to pay him if she ever spotted him again'
Pratigya had entered her home telling the driver to wait, the moment she entered, the driver had left. He didn't dare take money from her, he clearly remembered Krishna Thakur's order to take the girl in the blue suit where she wanted to go and not take money from her...
