Chapter 32: Reunion

Heer snuggled closer to her pillow enjoying the firm comfort it was giving her. She breathed deeply taking in a gentle smell of cologne. Her eyelids pulsed and her eyebrows flexed as her mind began awaking wondering where this masculine scent was coming from. Heer slowly cracked her eyes open; her vision slightly blurred. As her eyes adjusted they widen in alarm at the sleeping figure next to her. She instinctively kicked the figure and grabbed her bedcovers covering herself in utter panic. The figure fell to the floor with a thud and then sat up holding its head.

"Prem! What are you doing here?!" Heer shouted pulling the covers even tighter around her body.

"Ah," he moaned as he held his throbbing head. "I'm sleeping that's what I'm doing or was doing until you kicked me out of the bed. Did you really have to do that?"

"But why are you sleeping in my bed?" she asked.

"I fell asleep after you fell asleep. Relax Heer, nothing happened," he grumpily replied as he started rubbing the right side of his rib cage. "Gosh, that was a hard kick." Heer slowly dropped the bed covers and quickly glance at her clothing. She was wearing a black fitted t-shirt and red plaid pajama pants. "Do you have selective memory? You don't remember us cuddling on your bed watching a movie on your laptop? You fell asleep within ten minutes of the movie starting and then I fell asleep later." Prem said. Heer glanced over at the other night stand and spotted her laptop. "I would like to think you know me better than that...I would never do anything without your permission Heer."

"I'm sorry Prem. I just wasn't expecting you to be here when I woke up...it freaked me out," she apologized.

Prem pouted, "Freaked out all right...you kicked me and really hard too." He stood up still rubbing his rib cage. The sleeves of his black dress shirt were rolled back exposing his muscular forearms and his shirt was unevenly tucked; the right end hung out while the left end was loosely tucked into his dress pants. Heer softly stared, finding this imagine of him irresistibly masculine and attractive. Prem crawled back into bed planting his face into the soft pillow.

Heer reached over and gently massaged his head. "I'm sorry Prem," she whispered. "Does it still hurt?"

He sleepily opened his eyes and smiled, "No but," flipping onto his back, "this smarts a little," rubbing his side.

"Prem where does your Mom think you are?" she asked worriedly as she lightly massaged his side.

"At the hotel...it isn't the first time I spent the night over there...I thought I would be there all night but I was able to finish my work a lot faster than I thought...don't worry..." he replied.

"Oh My God, Meher," Heer suddenly gasped.

"If she heard anything she would have been knocking on the door by now," Prem answered. "By the way what time is it?"

Heer glanced at the alarm clock, "3:30am."

"3:30am...you should be sleeping. Go back to bed," he commanded. Heer sighed fixing the comforter so it spread out covering both of them as she slid back down into bed. She felt a bit nervous sharing the bed with Prem even though she knew he wouldn't do anything without her permission. She turned to her side and closed her eyes. Her breath caught in her chest as she felt Prem move his body closer into a spooning position behind her. His right arm protectively draped over her waist his hand resting on her stomach. "You don't mind do you?" he asked. "I just want to hold you."

Heer's sense of fear was soon replaced by an odd sense of safety and comfort in his positioning. She felt her body relax and she placed her hand on top of his intertwining their fingers together. "This is as far as you get Mr. Juneja," she warned.

Prem chuckled at her comment. "Yes, Ms. Maan." As he felt her body snuggle closer to him his lips broke out into a gentle smile. "I could get use to this," he whispered and kissed the top of her head. The couple soon drifted off into a peaceful slumber.

****************************************************

Prem's eyes fluttered open to a white ceiling as his ears awoke to the gentle chirping of birds in the distance. He laid there soaking in his surroundings; the scent of coconuts playing around his nostrils. He glanced down and saw that somehow through the night he and Heer had shifted sleeping positions. He had started out on his side but was now lying flat on his back with Heer sleeping on his chest. Her arms were wrapped around him possessively; the way a child would when holding a teddy bear. Prem gently smiled and felt at ease that the night passed without any further incidents. He kissed the top of Heer's head and then tried to carefully remove himself from her hold without waking her. He gingerly took the pillow from underneath his head and swapped himself out with it. Heer immediately grabbed a hold of the pillow and snuggled against it. Prem grinned at his triumphant and then headed for the bathroom to freshen up.

Heer slowly awoke to the sound of the shower running and hazily sat up turning towards the bathroom hugging her pillow. She glanced at the clock to see that it was 8:30am and yawned sleepily. Her eyes rose back up to the bathroom door when she heard the shower turn off and the sliding of the shower curtain. A few minutes later the door open revealing a cloud of mist as the hot steam from the shower floated into the room. Prem emerged drying his hair with a towel. Heer couldn't help but stare intently at him as he was bare chested and only wearing his dress pants. He beamed her a smile. "Good morning. Sleep well?" he greeted. Heer simply nodded. He dropped the towel around his neck and went back into the bathroom. "Thought I try to let the steam of the shower unwrinkled my dress shirt. It got pretty wrinkly from sleeping in it," he explained as he came back out with his shirt on a hanger. Heer followed him with her eyes as he hung it on the knob of the closet door to let it dry. Prem than walked over towards the bed, "You're very quiet this morning," he smirked his eyes twinkling with mischief. He had seen the way Heer was gazing at him, felt the way her eyes had followed him around the room, and saw the glint of disappointment when he dropped the towel around his neck covering most of his chest from her view. Prem bent down into a crawling motion with his hands on both sides of her and one knee on the bed. Heer cupped her mouth afraid of her morning breath and hesitantly looked away as he continued to lean in.

"Prem..." she mumbled into her hand nervous at his actions.

His smirked widen, "Just wanted to tell you the bathroom's all yours." Heer pushed his shoulder, which Prem exaggerated twisting his body so he fell flat on his back. She quickly got up and grabbed a change of clothes and rushed into the bathroom to get ready for the day. Prem smiled at her reaction and waited patiently for her to finish.

Heer closed her eyes and pulled her hands to her chest trying to calm her racing heart t as the hot water splashed down on her skin. She couldn't figure out why the sight of Prem shirtless was causing all these emotions to stir inside of her. She shook her head trying to suppress her thoughts. She knew full well that Prem was purposefully toying with her to see her reactions. Heer strengthened her resolve that she wouldn't allow herself to fall into his trip. After her shower she brushed her teeth and quickly put on her clothes; a pair of jeans and a burnt-orange long sleeved t-shirt. Heer took a deep breath and opened the door. The minute she stepped outside she felt Prem's strong arms pull her to the side. She turned her head away avoiding his gaze. Her breathing went shallow as she felt Prem's breath against her skin and dropped the towel in her hands. The tingling sensation she was feeling was unnerving to her. Prem gently placed his hand on the side of her chin and turned her head so she was looking at him again. "What's the matter? Don't like what you see?" he teased. She gave a slight glare at him which only caused the twinkle in his eye to shine even brighter. "What am I going to do with you? Is this how you are going to act when we have a pool party? I'll be shirtless than too," he cheekily poked.

"Don't you start..." she replied.

He looked at her innocently, "I'm not starting anything." He then lifted her hands and placed them around his bare shoulders. "I just want a Good Morning kiss." Prem leaned in towards her damp hair breathing in the sweet scent of coconut. He then slowly brushed his nose against her cheek moving his way to her lips. Heer closed her eyes enjoying the sensualness of his actions. She sighed as their lips made contact; her hands automatically gripping down on his shoulders. The feel of his bare skin sent tiny tingling waves through her fingers. She slowly moved then up towards the nape of his neck and gently played with his hair. Prem felt a rising heat within his body and it wanted more from her touch, but he kept his desires at bay, suppressing the need to push his boundaries. He gave a satisfied grin when the kiss ended while Heer broke into a small but timid smile. "I slept really well last night," he whispered.

Heer grinned, "Me too," and then gently pushed him away, "Now, go put on your shirt, Prem."

He obediently let go and went to change. "So, how about going out for breakfast?" he asked as put his undershirt on and then began buttoning up his dress shirt. He arched one eyebrow when he heard Heer's soft giggle. "What?"

"You've button it up wrong...it's uneven," she replied tossing her towel onto the bed. He looked down and pulled the ends out in front of him to inspect and gave a sheepish look. "Here," she offered and began rebuttoning his shirt for him. Prem smiled proudly when she had finished. He put on his belt and then slipped on his suit jacket. Brushing the sleeves of his jacket he turned towards the window by the desk.

Confusion crossed Heer's face as she watched Prem's actions, "Prem, what are you doing?" she asked.

"I can't go tip-toing past your sister's room. What if she wakes up and catches us?" he explained as he opened the window wider. "I'll meet you at the front door."

She frowned as she watched Prem gingerly climb out onto the tree. "Be careful," she whispered. He turned back and gave her a reassuring grin before carefully maneuvering his body around to climb his way down the tree. When he had safely made it onto the ground Heer closed the window with a sigh of relief and went down to meet him at the front door.

*****************************************************

Meher rolled over onto her back and stretched her sleepiness away. Remembering last night's events she shyly smiled as she touched her lips; her cheeks blushing a light pink. The second part of her Valentine's Day date had definitely ended far more cheerful and pleasant then the first half. Preet's imagine danced through her thoughts as she kicked the covers off of her and merrily went to the bathroom to get ready for the day. After a quick shower and change of clothes she decided to go see what her sister was up to. When she opened her bedroom door she was met with an odd stillness in the house. She went to her sister's room and found it empty but noticed how the bed was unmade, something her sister never did after she woke up. Meher stepped closer to inspect and saw two bath towels in the tangled sheets. Her mind began to perk with curiosity; why where there two bath towels? As her eyes traveled around the room scanning for other clues that had been left behind, she spied a very familiar cell phone. "What is Prem's cell phone doing here?" she whispered as she picked it up from the night stand. Meher's eyes widen as a sudden thought briefly flashed through her mind but then shook her head suppressing it. She didn't want to jump to any conclusions until she had more evidence. Meher quickly went to the bathroom and immediately spotted two toothbrushes in the tumbler. She covered her mouth in utter shock No, no, no...this can't be happening. Didi promised...did they really? Meher thought to herself. She stumbled out of the bathroom and noticed something curiously underneath the bed. She hadn't seen it before because of the angle in which she had entered the room. She went down on all fours and reached out with her right hand and picked up the shiny object. It was a gold cuff link that had the initials PJ. P and J that means Prem Juneja...Meher thought to herself. There is no way these could be Preet's because he never wears cuff links...and of course he never would be in this room...Prem is the only one working and wearing business suits...Meher stood there in the room holding the cuff link in the palm of her hand trying to process everything. She shook her head, "I have to talk to Didi...she better have a good explanation otherwise...she's sooooo dead...and if she gets pregnant...oh my God," she gasped holding her head, "I'm...I'm...she's so gonna get it from me."

Meher quickly ran down the stairs shouting her sister's name hoping she was somewhere still in the house but there was no response. She then proceeded to search the entire household making sure her sister and Prem weren't secretly hiding somewhere. Thirty minutes later Meher finally concluded that they were not there. She sighed wondering what to do next. Just than the door bell rang; it was Preet holding up two rental movies in his hands. "Good morning. I got Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days...you said you haven't seen any of these movies so I thought this would be a great way to spend our Sunday," he greeted. Meher grabbed his arm and pulled him forcefully into the house. Preet's eyes widen; his face filled with confusion and nervousness. He knew that last night's date had ended really well with a great kiss but he wasn't expecting this type of lustful action just yet. "Um, I-I...thought w-we were going to t-take things slow'" he rambled.

Meher looked at him her eyebrows puckered in confusion, "Preet, what are you talking about? Look at this!" she replied shoving the cuff link in his face.

"Um, it's a cuff link," Preet said not sure what she wanted him to do with it.

"Take a closer look," she commanded.

He looked closer inspecting it and replied, "It says PJ." Meher gave a nod and pointed with her eyes at the cuff link again hoping he'd get what she was getting out. "PJ...P and J...initials...hey, this looks like PB's cuff link," Preet finally said. "Wait, so why do you have his cuff link?"

"I found it underneath Heer Didi's bed," Meher answered. Preet did a double take and gawked at the cuff link. "I know, I know. I also found two toothbrushes in Didi's bathroom and they were used very recently because they were both still wet...and I also found two used bath towels on the bed which was a complete mess...Didi never leaves her bed like that...and I found Prem's cell phone on the night stand! This can only mean one thing!"

Preet broke out into a soft smirk, "I can officially call her Bhabhi. Why to go Prem Bhaiya!" Meher slapped his shoulder causing him to pout, "What?"

"This is not something to be celebrating about...what they're doing is wrong, Preet," Meher said.

"What are they doing wrong? They both love each other and they just made it more official," Preet reasoned. "Besides, Meher what's done is done...we can't undo it and neither can they. So, we should try to support them and help them figure out a way to break it nicely and gently to everyone. Wow, this is the best news ever."

Meher sighed at his attitude; a worried expression falling on her face. "I don't know...why do I have a feeling something really bad is going to happen?"

Preet put his arm around her shoulder giving her an encouraging hug, "Don't you start doubting on me. Bhabhi's finally made her decision so we got to think positively, Meher, for both of them. It may seem like an impossible obstacle to overcome but we will...they will overcome it. We'll have a little talk with them when they come back. In the meantime let's make some breakfast and watch one of these movies. Which one you want to watch first?"

Meher gave an understanding nod, "I guess you're right. Let's watch How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days...I heard that was really funny."

**********************************************

Prem grinned widely as he poured maple syrup on his stack of pancakes. He was completely famished and had had a deep hankering for pancakes ever since he woke up. He gingerly picked one up with his fork and placed it onto Heer's plate. She looked at him questioningly. "They are really good and you're going to ask me for a taste later so I thought I just give you one," he answered.

She sheepishly smiled, "Thanks Prem. Do you want anything?"

"I'll take some hashbrowns," he replied. Heer pushed her plate over and shoveled half of her serving onto his plate.

They both sat there quietly eating their breakfast when Prem suddenly realized something. "Can't seem to find my cell phone," he stated as he searched through his pockets, "I must have left it at your house. Can I borrow your phone?" Heer nodded and handed it over. He quickly dialed a number and waited patiently for the other end to pick up. "Morning, Ma..." he greeted. "I'm eating breakfast with Heer. Yes, I slept well at the hotel. My cell phone battery is dead that's why I'm calling you from her phone..."

Heer sat watching him as he continued to speak to his mother. A nervous jittery sensation filled the pit of her stomach. She disliked the fact that Prem was lying to his mother about his whereabouts last night and the state of his cell phone. But it wasn't the first time he or she had lied to their parents about what they were doing. Heer remembered the first time she had lied to her father. Prem had come over to the house to study which they did do but as the night worn on they ended up cuddling together on the couch watching TV. Eventually the cuddling turned into a playful make out session. Her phone had started ringing and she had absentmindedly picked it up without checking the caller ID. Prem was tickling her as she answered the phone causing her to burst out into a fit of giggles in greeting. Her body immediately went ridged the moment she heard her father's deep voice. She stood up so suddenly that Prem fell over sideways banging his head on the coffee table. It was so loud that her father had heard it over the phone. She literal had to stuff a pillow into Prem's mouth so his groans wouldn't get pick up by the phone. She played it off to her father that is was just the TV and then proceeded to spend the entire 30 minute conversation nervously pacing back and forth around the living room telling her father that she was alone studying. She lied to him about her weekend plans and the fact that she had been keeping in touch with her fiancee. White lies, was probably the better term to use; she omitted certain facts of her day and stretched the truth in other places. Had she been keeping in touch with her fiancee? In short, yes she was through e-mails once a week but very short generic writings. She refused to talk to him on the phone though her father believed that she was keeping in touch that way. After she had hung up with her father she felt horrible for telling him these things and felt guilty for treating Prem like he wasn't there. The strange thing was as the weeks progressed she got better at lying but it didn't erase the fact of what she was doing or ease the feeling afterwards.

Prem hung up with his mother and noticed the silent gaze Heer had. "Stop feeling guilty," he said answering her gaze.

"I can't help it," she replied.

"Ma says for you and Meher to come over to dinner tonight," he informed. "And," he continued as a tiny smile appeared on his lips, "Bauji is coming home next week with your parents."

"Really?" she excitedly said. "But wait, I thought Papa was refusing to come because he was worried about the business."

Prem shrugged his shoulders, "I guess they must have figured something out. Besides your uncle is there...I'm sure he will be handling things while your father is away." He grinned at the way her face had lit up at the news of her parents impending arrival to Canada. "Daddy's little girl'" he teased.

Heer frowned at his comment, "Like you aren't a mama's boy?"

"Hey, I listen to my Ma like any other good kid. If that makes me a mama's boy so be it," he replied with a smile. Heer rolled her eyes and went back to eating. Prem took a sip of his coffee and bit his lower lip reflectively. He didn't like what he was about to ask but he knew he had to, especially with their parents coming back it was an issue that was going to be addressed. "Have you sent an e-mail to him?" Heer looked up at Prem her eyes filled with a mixture of guilt and avoidance. "I know you don't like talking about this but I think we can't avoid it any longer. Our parents are coming back."

She shook her head, "No, I haven't sent him an e-mail yet. I barely know what to say to him when I reply back to his e-mails. Would it be really heartless if I broke it to him in an e-mail?"

"I think you're asking the wrong person that. You know how I feel about it," Prem replied. He gently reached over and placed his hand on hers. "We have to tell our parents about us."

Heer glanced to the side lowering her gaze guilty, "I know...I just don't want to disappoint anyone."

"You'd think I'd be a disappointment to your father?" Prem asked.

Heer looked at him in alarm, "No, that's not what I meant. I'm just scared...we don't know how they are going to take this especially since we've been running around having this illicit affair."

"Hey, don't make it sound like our relationship is dirty," Prem tensely warned.

Heer placed her hands on her temples and leaned her elbows against the table feeling frazzled. "I'm sorry Prem...I keep saying the wrong things today..." Prem looked at the fragile state that Heer had suddenly reduced down to. He got up from his side of the booth and slid in next to her; pulling her into a hug. "I'm sorry," he whispered kissing her forehead. She shook her head, "Don't apologize. You did nothing wrong." Prem looked up trying to see if he could catch the attention of a waiter so he could pay the check. "I think we need some fresh air," he suggested still holding her tightly in his arms. "Don't worry everything is going to be all right."

********************************************

Heer glanced down towards her left side; marveling at the way her fingers intertwined with his. Prem gave a reassuring squeeze as they walked down the boardwalk at the harbor. There was a gentle breeze blowing; leaving a pleasantly refreshing feeling against the skin. Prem gently but firmly wrapped his arms around her waist pulling Heer into a back hug. He was half expecting her to pull away like normal voicing her usual concerns of showing affection in public but instead she let herself lean into his comfortable embrace. Prem rested his chin on her shoulder and sighed, "You feel really tense."

"My parents are coming shouldn't you be feeling tense too?" Heer asked. Prem chuckled softly causing her to feel irate. "How can you laugh at a time like this?"

"Sorry, I just had a strange thought...like everything turning all dramatic at the time of the confession...you know how the Indian TV serials do it...the zooming in on the shocked faces and the double takes of the camera...whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...close-up, close-up, close-up..." he snickered.

Heer elbowed him, "Prem this is serious."

"I know so are the confessions done in the TV serials. I just hope no one gets slapped..." he continued.

"Slapped?" she repeated with concern. The thought of it caused her great pain. She knew how dramatic things could get, just knowing how her family was. When growing up she heard plenty of stories about some distant relative or another having some sort of dispute over land, money, and martial rights. Some of which lead to fist fights, huge arguments, and people who refused to talk to each other for decades. Her mother's aunt had once disowned her own son because he ran away with his girlfriend and eloped on the day of his arranged marriage. Things eventually worked out but not after 10 years did issues finally get resolved.

"Don't worry I'll take it. It will all be on me...I'll take the punishment for both of us..." he replied. Heer turned around so she was facing him and cupped his cheek. He shook his head telling her not to worry and kissed the palm of her hand. He then took her hand into his and tenderly brought it up to his lips planting a kiss on top. A twinge of fear struck Heer as she watched him take the ring he had given her off her finger. Prem's lips curled into a simple smile letting her know he wasn't taking it back. He lifted her left hand and slipped it onto her ring finger, "My promise, my vow, and my responsibility to you."

Heer's eyes widen at his statement. Perhaps this confession from Prem couldn't really be dubbed as a surprise by any means and from any bystander's point of view this was the natural course that would have evolved; but for Heer it was something still unexpected. After all they never talked about the future in that manner; they never mentioned children or living together. The only thing Heer could utter as her breath caught in her throat was, "Prem..."

He leaned his forehead against hers and breathed deeply, "You never thought about it?"

"No, of course I did...privately, but we never talked about it. Prem, we've only known each other for six months," she replied.

"I'm not saying right this second," he answered a bit bummed by her reaction. "But it's my promise to you for the future." As if sensing his mood Heer suddenly hugged him tightly. After some time she pulled back and Prem saw the moistness in her eyes. "Heer---" he was stopped from saying anything more by Heer's soft lips against his. He let himself go enjoying the kiss. Prem was mildly surprised by the way Heer deepened it as if pouring every ounce of her feelings and love towards him into the kiss. When it naturally ended Heer could taste the residual maple syrup that had been transferred from Prem's lips. "Maple syrup," he whispered as if reading her thoughts. She blushed and lowered her head shyly causing him to chuckle at her attitude. It amazed him how one minute she could act so boldly and then in the next turn timid and coy in front of his eyes. He found it intriguingly endearing and hugged her.

****************************************************************

Meher and Preet both stared at each other in the corner of the kitchen with bemused looks at the sudden predicament they were in. Meher motioned with her eyes for Preet to go while he motioned for her to go.

Meher sighed and whispered forcefully, "Why do I have to go?"

"Because you do," Preet whispered back.

"You're just as capable," she argued. "And I thought you were the Mr. Man with the Plan."

"Hey, don't taunt me. Even I can't come up with a plan that quickly. Sometimes it takes awhile for it to kick in," he explained rather annoyed.

"Look we can't hide here forever," she said.

"Yes, I agree. This looks really strange," Preet answered.

"Okay fine this is what we are going to do," Meher said taking charge. "I'll go to the store and you go and babysit until I get back."

"Okay, but please drive the speed limit. If you get caught without a license you're going to get a huge fine and maybe into some legal trouble. You're driving test is next week," Preet cautiously warned.

Meher nodded, "Okay, wish me luck."

"Wish you luck? Wish me luck," Preet replied.

"You don't need luck. You need to behave and be nice," she instructed.

"Hey, I'm nice. I am nice, I'm so nice that compared to how nice I am; you're mean," he grinned.

Meher rolled her eyes, "Preet, what are you blabbering about?"

Knowing Meher's temperament he threw his hands up in the air in surrender, "Okay, okay. I'm going," and left the kitchen heading towards the living room.

******************************************

Heer giggled as she ran towards the front porch with Prem a few steps behind. She grinned and stuck her tongue out childishly at him. "I won so that means we are going to see Eat Pray Love."

Prem pouted his eyebrows puckering heavily, "That's not fair you distracted me. Why can't we go see Inception?"

"I don't like sci-fi stuff," Heer answered.

"It's not your typical sci-fi...no space ships or things like that. It got really good reviews," he explained. "And besides you cheated..."

"I did no such thing," she replied teasingly.

"You distracted me with a kiss," he said. "That's cheating."

"Since when was that written in the rules I can't do that?" she taunted. "You're just mad that you didn't think of it first."

Prem continued to pout nodding his head with childish anger. "Eh, didn't think of it first..." he muttered. He then suddenly rushed upon Heer causing her to back into the wall. He smiled inwardly at his revenge. "Prem..." she called out slightly surprised. He put one hand on the wall while the other rested on her waist and leaned in locking her into an intimate embrace. "Prem..." she warned sternly. He just smirked mischievously and inched his face closer. "I think we've already broken the PDA rule today...don't go backwards now." Heer smiled and hit his chest playfully. Prem grinned and leaned in to erase the distance between them. Just as their lips were about to touch the front door suddenly opened causing Heer to move her head and Prem to fall forward into her hair. "Meher..." Heer announced pushing Prem away from her. He stumbled backwards and glanced at his love's sister with an innocent caught look.

Meher's eyes widen in shock and alarm at seeing the couple on the front porch. She quickly closed the door behind her and smiled nervously. It was an odd reaction considering she was the one interrupting not the other way around. "Didi, what are you doing here?" she whispered.

"This is my house...um, I thought I come home. Why are you whispering?" she probed. Meher grabbed her arm causing her to worry. "You're scaring me, Meher. What's wrong?"

Meher cautiously glanced around her and then said, "He Who Must Not Be Named is here."

"Lord Voldmort?" Prem answered picking up on the Harry Potter reference.

"What? You're not making any sense. And where are you going?" Heer replied noticing the keys in her hand.

"To the store to get some drinks and snacks," Meher said.

"Without a license?!" Heer exclaimed. "Why doesn't Preet go, it's his car."

"Because he has to entertain He Who Must Not Be Named," Prem answered for her picking up on the game. Meher looked at him with acknowledgment causing Prem to flash a smile.

"You're not going to the store without a license Meher," Heer ordered. "If Preet can't go than Prem can go instead."

Meher shook her head violently, "No, he can't go. It's important he stays."

Prem chuckled, "Oh, so I get to hang out with He Who Must Not Be Named?"

She looked at him worriedly because she knew what was behind the front door. Everything seemed fun and games now but once he entered reality would hit and hit really hard. Meher swallowed and took a deep breath. Heer continued to look worriedly at her sister's strange behavior. In the most calm and serious tone Meher said, "He's Here Didi."

Heer blinked a couple of times as she processed her sister's words. She hesitantly opened the door and stepped into the house. Prem followed behind realizing something was seriously wrong. Heer's heart almost stopped when she saw who was sitting there on the couch with Preet. He stood up the minute they came in. He was wearing a nicely tailored dark gray suit that complemented his tall stature. His dark hair was gelled upwards and a faint stubble surrounded his mouth. The fairness in his complexion made his extremely pink lips stand out even more. Prem's eyes immediately narrowed at the sight of the stranger. The young man smiled and greeted, "Prashant Chabaria."

Wow! Talk of dropping a bomb! 😲 I feel like I'm in Japan and this is world war two!! 😆 that came out of nowhere!!

Excellent chapter! I loved Prem's promise, Heer's fear, Meher's jumping to conclusions and the way you got to the end...I was laughing, got confused for a second but continued laughing and ended up gaping with a ''jet will fly into my mouth'' expression! 😆

I hope this isn't the end of romance for PH! Pretty please 😳 I hope it works out for them 😳 continue soon
