Siddhanth loves Riddhima like he loves his heartbeat ... and it is adorable to see him behave like a baby and crib about going to a conference. Who doesn't want a husband like him? A man who would give anything to have a glimpse of his wife ....perhaps that is what makes Sid special. His goodness , his purity and his subtle but intense love for his wife Riddhima. And this is what makes a strict and no-nonsense woman like Riddhima melt like a cheesecake on fire....š³
But just as you are awwwwwwwing over the adorable husband Sid , enter Armaan and Shilpa - and Sid transforms into matchmaker Cupid with equal ease.... I have always found Sid's affection for Armaan endearing ... it just touches you that how two men who are supposed to hate each-other actually share this beautiful bond. And i loved the scene that followed.....Sid putting his arm around Armaan's shoulder and building him a castle of new dreams that put a smile on your face.... Tera ek ghar ho... aur us ghar mein ek sundar si biwi ho.... and right behind them, Armaan's angel was listening.Shilpa... her face holding a dreamy glow ... her lovely hair flying as though Sid was weaning that dream not just for Armaan , but ArShi together... but POP! Armaan just has to live up to his reputation of a khadoos - sadoo... and he shakes everyone off... Shilpa also wakes up and stamps her armaan-o-meter with her heeled shoe.... Alarm bells ! I am not affected by Armaan - I am going to face him... so there she goes floating like a butterfly to Armaan - gives him a 1000 watt smile and cooes.. Hello, Dr.Armaan! ... Poor Armaan...Shilpa ? Civilized? ... The poor guy gets a shock and shuts the file that he was holding in horror.....and Shilpa in her bid to prove that Armaan has no effect on her supports Riddhima for the DO until Sid is away.....and she doesn't do anything without trumpets , does she?... And Armaan stands there with a phoola hua munh, Sid feels like spanking Shilpa for kicking out a golden chance of getting into Armaan's good books and Riddz .... permanently chudail mood grants her husband's wishes and scolds Shilpa.... phew! Is chudail ka ilaaj sirf uska badtameez hai. š
Later , the lecture , while Shilpa fights her innocent love with her innocence , trying to convince herself that she needs to kick out that armaan-o-meter , you feel nothing but sadness for her. Investing or rather beginning to invest everything in a man who will break her heart... break it so badly that perhaps we will never see this butterfly again. Sid's expressions were so adorable here as he shakes his head wondering what Einstein brain should he use to make Shilpa realize that she cannot get into Armaan's good books by telling him how mosquitoes get heart attacks ..... it was supposed to be funny , and maybe it was with Armaan calling her Miss. Bollywood.... but you only see her future.... and the tears that will soon find way to her big , brilliant eyes.š
As for the last scene, at one side you had an innocent , fiery Shilpa taking out her gussa , and gussa against feelings for Armaan in the recreation room....she just wants to shut her heartbeat and that is why she abuses Armaan in the recreation room...she doesn't have anybody to talk to, she has nobody to whom she can tell what her heart's confusion is ... so she vents out the innocent nakkchada gussa on that sandbag , the recreation room , that water bottle , that strip of black cloth... everything that symbolizes Armaan....the way she copies him puts a smile on your face and you actually wan to wrap her innocence and sprouting love for Armaan in cotton balls. ....
Yet the most touching part was this.....
Armaan watching Shilpa do all the nautanki inside.... and the other wise brooding , angry , sadu, khadoos Armaan having this luminous smile on his face... amused , dazzled , touched and just watching her quietly. He loved the sight of Shilpa playing him ....and because she reflects nothing but innocence , life and beauty , the glow of it shown on Armaan's face... once again , for those few minutes, he became the old Armaan Malik.....and Armaan just did not want to go away .... he was pulled into the RR by his nautanki Miss. Bollywood ....he was smiling , smiling , his eyes tender.....and as he saw that bottle of life fizz ape Armaan behind the blindfold, he went up behind her and grasped her ....telling her that her attack and defense , both are weak and how right he was... the armaan-o-meter is really weak..... He puts his hands on her and draws her close teaching her how to fight with the correct posture and correct force....but he has no idea what he is doing to Shilpa... for her .. it is the touch and proximity of a man she is falling for... And it is only when she withdraws herself from him that he realizes how closely he had violated her personal space.... for those few seconds, he felt something as she withdrew away from him.. and he realized that he was a man and she a woman... so he looked down.....Pushing away the blindfold , she just wants to run away from Armaan... but her dupatta refuses to leave Armaan ... and it is strange... very very strange that Armaan made no move to remove her symbol of honour from his shirt until she came closer.....and as she ran out with her dupatta ... Armaan gave her a sweet small smile ... which he himself doesn't know where it came from ... and then wondered in sweet amusement.... will i ever get the vein of this girl.....
As for Armaan's heartbreaking dialogue to Riddhima regarding Shilpa .... Shilpa mere liye koi nahiin hai... well, you just want to go and hug Shilpa to stop her heart from breaking even before it shows cracks.... but , that is her journey to Armaan's heart... hard , thorny......it is just that the day Armaan wants Shilpa more than anything in the world, by then , she will just not be Shilpa anymore.....
I do want to believe Armaan that he cares two hoots about Shilpa.... but when i look at him smile at Shilpa in the RR and his face grimace with concern as she hits her knuckles against the sandbag , i just get this knowing smile on my face....
P.S- I MISSED MY SR TODAY.... I do understand , creatives that why all this happens , but we just need our daily dose of SR. Not my mistake. You gave us SR , a life story and it is not our fault that we got addicted. Precap kitni baar dikhaaoge? š
