Yes Quite possible naadia.This may be the reason.Mr basu may want anurag to be his son in law and in this process Anurag being away from family will feel himself close to this family and will become friend with nupur and during 5 years of stay he may mistake it as love.But when he will return back he may start getting close to taani again and this will create drift between nupur and him and taani will leave for sake of anurag and nupur's ..and one day Anurag will be dumped by Nupur and will be left alone and will loose his mental stability..

U reasoning cld be true...that genrally tends to happen and Nupur wld be Basu daughter so staying with them and them being close to each other Onu ma think that he is in luv with her...& looking at the reasoning Onu and Taani had always encouraged their relationship as Best friends and Maybe on that pretext he wld think Taani wld understand him not knowing the reality that Taani wld be actually waiting for him..
