SS is more interesting to watch - no doubt about that, but I find Shamji's character very interesting also - his love for his daughter, his loyalty to his family, his frustration at encountering the Thakurs, his feeling of helplessness that Pratigya's life has been hijacked...

Plus, personally as a character, I find SS very evil - not just interesting but so chaalu, so calculating. The thing is although Shamji is boring and whiney, he has a pure heart that can LOVE. SS, he's so much fun but he doesn't love anybody except himself - NOT EVEN his beloved children. He's ruthless and I find that frighterning.
So my vote to Shamji.
