Dutta's Definition of Love

Dutta's revelation today is a bit surprising in one way. Sure it has been apparent he's been averse to the idea of love and beautiful people and what not - but it really hit home today how in his mind the two are interrelated. In his mind the two equate to lies and betrayal. Yet when he loves he has loved selflessly and whole-heartedly - given it has always been the wrong person. Makes you wonder - he knew how to give love but never quite knew what receiving love is supposed to be like. It's almost like he always thought beauty was a big part of the equation of love even though his actions show otherwise (like him not liking anyone mocking Naku's looks). And when this proved wrong he concluded love to be equivalent to betrayal. Maybe that's why more then finding Naku's declarations repulsive he just finds them unreal because he has never seen things in that perspective - that just the way DSP has given his all in relationships and been selfless someone else can be the same to him. Which essentially makes Dada right - Naku is the wiser of the two - Naku too is right - Dutta's heart is one of a child - naive, innocent and vulnerable. What a case study lol DSP is - upar se hard as a coconut shell and andar se just as soft. And what he calls Naku's bholapaan (in trusting Jagtap etc) is actually showing of her maturity and ability to judge someone by their heart (where Dutta fails miserably for the most part) - complete opposite of him - soft on the outside and tough and able to bear the brunt of his blows on the inside.

In bold: Thats right...he doesnt know how it is to receive love. He's surrounded by people like his sisters on one hand who pretend to love him. then there are his exes like seema and supriya. and lets not forget AS...not sure if she is the BH but even if she isnt she isnt the fiercely protective mother like Babi. Basically leaves him alone when he obviously wud be hurting...what kind of behavior is that?

I think it is this lack of love from his family that drove him to look for love elsewhere, and why he placed so much importance on it (e.g. Seema). It's like putting all your hopes for love in one basket, one person, and unfortunately, to have that person betray you. It would be devastating. And for it to happen twice, no less.

Two questions: Above we mention how Dutta knows how to give love, not receive it. There is much truth to that. But does he really know how to give love? I sometimes wonder. I think he is looking for someone to give love to. But I don't know if he knows how. If you don't receive it, how do you know to give it?

Question two: Given his hatred for beauty and love and the connection he makes between beauty and betrayal, do you think he found it easier to trust Naku because she was unlike Seema? I have to ask that question because when he said how much beautiful face betray, I thought if Naku had been beautiful on the outside, as per the world's definition, would he have felt comfortable opening up to her? He became close to her mainly because she understood him almost instinctively, but his ability to get close to her, to let her in, could it have been influenced by her appearance? Just a thought. I'd love to get your perspective on it.

Okay but seriously how much of a child can he be inside??? I mean we are talking about a guy who made himself into the biggest Don in the city ..... he has big enemies and hardly any close friends. He has never been able to trust anyone other than baji and his sisters and mother. He lost his father at a young age...but seriously....for someone who can become the biggest Don out there...he is definitely not naive.
there is no way he could remain Naive and still be that successful at his illegal ops. There is no excuse for Dutta's lack of respect for Naku's emotions and for his behavior when it comes to blaming Naku for everything that goes wrong. Dutta's just a plain FOOL......and i'm pissed at him right now.

Dont be...Dutta isnt seriously blaming Naku for them landing up in the jungle. He is simply taking out his frustration and helplessness at Naku. Naku herself knows he doesnt seriously blame her. I have seen all husbands do that with their wives and vice versa.

No I definitely feel he knows how to give love...he's been doing that for years...selfless love for his family and Baji. Only thing maybe he asks from these people in return for what he does is to keep him grounded. Thats why if u see to some extent he cant understand Naku's variety of selfless love...becuz he has never got it. The love which will only want to see the person she loves happy and demand nothing in return. Because he himself has not received such selfless love.

I maybe wrong but I strongly feel that irrespective of how she looked Dutta's behavior to Naku wudnt have changed. But yes people's views on looking at his friendship between a beautiful young girl and a good looking young guy wud have been differemt.

Matters of the mind and heart are two distinct things IMO. There are so many people like that in the real world - I'd start with myself for that matter. A pro when it comes to the matters of the mind (profession, school, climbing up the professional ladder, etc) but come to the matters of the heart and so totally oblivious and a lost soul. For him in Don mode it is strictly business - matter of the mind. Switch over to matters of the heart where he hasn't been so successful and doesn't quite handle stuff as smoothly he is naive. Professionally as a don he walks cooly and confidently because he knows his game and has it under control - slick talk and situation in control. Hence no need to play the blame game. Come to the matter of the heart and he has no idea how the whole thing is playing out - first instinct - blame others. Is it right? Not necessarily - but that's how he is. And it's human.

Love for Dutta is never been "Sacrifice",its always been "Getting it".

Seema & Supriya were two beautiful women who were just Dutta's "Pasand".But,Dutta who cant understand the difference between "Pasand" & "Pyar" thought it is "Love" & assumes that that sort of attraction, affection to get that beauty & making that "Beauty" his life & wife is the "Love".So,he never understands the "Love means sacrifice " thing. All he knows is to Love someone means "Get that person forever in his life" & not giving up.YEs,he relates this kind of love to "Beauty".
For,Nakku it is just pure "Sacrifice".Whoever you love, give everything for them without even xpecting 0.5 percent of return.Love for Nakku is to see the person happy whom ever she loves eventhough she herself has to undergo a lot of pain.
So,when Nakku claimed she loves Dutta & wanted to give him happiness,so she stopped Supriya,it is quite obvious that Dutta doesnot understand it.As his definition of "Love" is different. He can never think that someone can sacrifice their happiness for their love. This is something he doesnot understand.Adding to that,he thinks his sisters love him a lot & whatever "Nautanki" they do is rt & the truth & their love is "True Love" which is not.Other kind of love "He doesnot understand" as he doesnot seem to believe other people than his sisters & AS.Baji is someone who follows Dutta & cant xpect anything from about this regard.
Yes,Dutta can give Love & doesnot know to receive it.At the same time ,he has got this thing in his mind that "He can read others mind seeing their eyes" which is not at all true as he cannot even read others eyes & reading their mind is very far.He understands "His enemies" & other Man's heart but not Woman. He cant get whats in an woman's heart. In understanding an woman's heart,he is definitely "Naive" & even get nervous to talk to or get along with "Beautiful women".
This is what I think.😊.
