Note Faz has made her entry....may not be dhamaka one but she will do her tricks a little later..her story is not this one..she will get full role a little later.. she has yet to meet Adi.

Chapter 39

Vicky had been pacing the foyer once he had received the call from Nargis about their imminent arrival. He had left Maan to be taken care of by his friend from college days. There were others as well to help out but this friend was very close to Maan and they had shared a few years together. The guy was a genius but was so sleek that one cannot associate his fun loving manners with intelligence quotient that would phenomenal. He enjoyed ganging up with him to play pranks with people. Their sense of humour was a common thread and he was doing a good job at ribbing Maan. Their Saale! Slang was the best. Also the special petnames they had in college for girls, and there was this girl named Candi Barre, they never did let her live that one up. She, poor soul had the most harrowing time with them. The stories were shared by Arjun rather than Maan who would not go into graphic details of the girls and the way they had special names for everyone on campus.

Arjun had landed just half hour back as a surprise. It seems he decided to come a few days early as he had some lean time in London and hopped on the flight yesterday to reach this morning. He came to the house and will be staying at Khurana Mansion to help with the wedding preparations. Vicky was happy to have another pair of hands around. They will have fun.

The office folks were also trickling in. Adi came first and behind him Sasha and Tasha came up. They knew the house so they got in touch with the wedding planner and asked if any help was required. When assured that everything was set, they went upto daadima to see if they were required. There was always something to do at a wedding. Daadima promptly gave them work to organize the garlands and petals to be thrown on the bride and groom when the ceremony started. Also the gifts were handed over to Sasha and Tasha to be taken care of and to be handed to Daadi as and when required.

Among the invitees was Farah Khan, the company secretary to KB Technologies. Faz as her friends called her was a classic chippa rustam. She was probably the best example of what lay in the pages of a book was not revealed by the cover. She was a medium height, quiet person, who would rather be buried in her legislations than interact with people. Well that is what the impression everyone got. She had a soft voice that one had to strain to hear. She knew the statutory and regulatory requirements to run a company like KBT and ensured that she was ahead of her game. The admistrative decisions were taken by her. Maan left things that were related to shares, dividend and other legal matters that needed to be dealt with to her. Nargis and Faz had their work divided between themselves. All domestic issues were looked in by Faz who was born and brought up in Delhi and had a very upper class upbringing that reflected times of royals of Lucknow. It was probably that her ancestoral property was at some point in Lucknow. She had that regal air about her.

She did not usually attend parties or go to office functions but Maan's wedding was a must attend for her. She came to Khurana Mansion and said her hellos to Vicky and went in to meet daadima. One person who knew the whole Khurana story was Faz as her mother and Poonam's family were neighbours and had good relations for years. Faz of course, did not advertise her relation to the family but Poonam Maasi was someone she wanted to meet at this wedding. It was believed that she will be coming today, but when she enquired about her to Daadi, she was informed that the doctor advised to wait a couple of days and not introduce her straight to crowds.

Faz looked ethereal in peach and white sharara with old Lucknowi tikka that her mother had given her on her 21^st birthday. She wore simple pearl string around her neck and a bracelet to go with it. A discreet watch in one hand completed her emsemble.

Nargis and Nupur arrived just behind Faz and Vicky gazed at Nargis adoringly. He took in the rose colored ghagra choli with elegant hyderabadi pearl choker and jhumkas that had string go over the ears and tucked into hair that were pinned up on the sides. The dupatta was draped to reveal the back and peek some portion of the waist. Vicky could hardly keep himself in check at the tantalizing glimpse of alabaster skin of Nargis's. He put his hand forward to take in hers and help her the last few steps. He whispered in her ears Ravishing Zeno! And gave a peck on her cheek. Nargis blushed. She had Nupur paying minute attention to the interplay between Nargis and Vicky.

Nupur said Ahem! In a mock cough to announce her presence. She was looking equally resplendent in a bright yellow and green salwaar kameez in silk with a heavily embroidered dupatta. She had worn simple jewellery in emerald. Studs and a pendent in gold with gold and green bangles to match the suit.

Vicky turned his attention to Nupur on the sound and winked saying, Nupur, aap pehle kyon nahi mili, sacchchi tujhe urra le jaata. Giving her a hug, while still looking at Nargis.

Nupur says, dialogue maarna chorro jeejudude, I mean JD. Nargis se to nazar hatt nahi rahi, mujh par line kya khaak maaroge?

Vicky said, Koi baat nahi, hum fling to kar hi sakte hain?

Nupur and Nargis laughed with Vicky as they entered the house. Vicky immediately took them to Daadima and introduced Nupur after Nargis had touched her feet. Daadima kissed their foreheads respectively and told Ab sab sambhalo Nargis, mein thora aaram kar loon! Nargis darted a startled glance at Vicky who just smiled and told Daadima, Haan haan daadima, Nargis sab sambhal legi and ushered Nargis away towards the huge ballroom like hall which was the place for the engagement ceremony.

The room was a high ceiling hall with huge French windows that overlooked the west side of the garden and the series of doors led to the patio that led to the garden. The dcor was elegant cream and brocade wallpaper in silk with two huge identical chandeliers that gave the room its focal point. There were paintings by famous artists or at least to Nargis they looked very expensive and from artists she would be hard pressed to recognize. There were huge beige sofa sets arranged at the periphery of the room probably to accommodate all the guests with chairs covered with pristine white cloth with damask pattern and tied with gold tissue bow at the back placed around the room and in groups around tables for convenient seating. A small area to the east wall was designated for the ceremony could be made out due to the small half step podium created to give a slight elevation to the couple and their family.

Nargis and Nupur were awestruck with the decorations of flowers, bouquets and lights giving a very festive look to the otherwise very formal room. Vicky then introduced them to the Wedding planner who had everything in control and Nargis was informed that she was just being teased by Daadima.

With relief Nargis and Nupur asked where Maan was. Just then Maan and couple of his friends entered the hall. Nargis and Nupur beamed at them turning. But Nupur's attention seemed to be taken up by someone next to Maan and the ready smile seemed to vanish.

Arjun! She thought OMG! Ye yahan kya kar raha and then put both her hands in front of her on the dress to protect it from accident that this Hazmat was likely to indulge in.
