I feel there are two types of music listeners these days..

One category is who just want a good beat and dont bother about lyrics at all..they just wanna dance and have some good time..(pure dancers)

Second category is who care about the lyrics and associate it with their individual lives😉 (imagine about their boy friend or girl firend etc) and than enjoy the song..and may do little bit of dancing on these songs..(soulful songs)

Some music composers have mastered to deal with the first category(pure dancers) by looking for great beats around ...fit in any lyrics on them..the lyrics are the last consideration..Once you steal a great beat your work is 90 percent done..you generally dont remember this song after 5 minutes and that is ok as long as you had fun dancing..Do we know the list of such songs for the sake of pure dancers

Second category is the soulful songs..lyrics are too important in this..if composer is good... they create a melody which you cannot forget for long..pure dancers may not like it if the beat is not fast..

The ideal could be where lyrics are great and fit perfectly to the beat and song can make you dance and remind you of your lover also😳...Can any body tell me list of such a song...

In today's generation...a large number of listeners unfortunately fall into the 1st generation. And we have MDs like HR to cater to the needs of this generation

I like to listen to the lyrics, it adds more meaning to the song. Lousy lyrics tend to be grating on the ears. But if the lyrics are mean to play a background role (Jhalak dhikl aaja), I can just listen to the music.

Sorry don't agree you. I think whatever soothing to our ears we listen. You will find the same guy who would listen to both rock and classical/semiclassical. It has to be liked by our ears.

I listen to both and I am sure if someone likes 'Jhalak Diklaja' a rock tune will also like Khilte hyay Gul yehann (bhimpalsri) or Albela sajan aao re (pure Bhairavi) or chup chup ke (B&B song, I call it instrumental fusion)

Why do you think in 80s we had chartbusters of Didi ( that isralei song) ? Did you know the lyrics ?

Or

Why do I like that tamil song ( sorry only knows couple of words) ARR composed in 90s or that Marati majhi song of HemantKumar and Lata

you are very right ...you can like both...that is the third category and I wish I could put that in the poll but not at this stage...😕

When I say you don't listen to lyrics and just focus on beat doesnot mean you completely close your ears to the lyrics..just you don't care about the lyrics that much...same way somebody who is listening to the lyrics doesnot mean he is listening to each and every line ...things are not absolute..

I agree there is third category where people like both the beat and lyrics...sorry cannot add that at this stage..😕
