I remembered the same dialogue when I saw this scene today - "Hum kuch bhi ho sakte hai par dost nahi " Armaan and Riddhima are friends for sure but they were always destined to love ,theirs is a love story and friendship was just the first step or excuse ,They are MEANT to be !

I know exactly what you mean about AR. Watching them sitting together on that bench made me feel really good and really sad at the same time. It's quite strange, and certainly not pleasant, feeling that way. They spoke about their times, and you're bang on when you said they sound all grown up and far away from the fun. And I hate to say this, but they seemed a little formal-ish too. Actually, Riddhima did. It's that whole difficult-to-come-from-love-to-friendship mode. And it seems to work differently for both of them. While for her, it tends to imply a certain amount of distance. Like they'd be better off away from each other, just keeping a slight tab on how they're both doing. The usual hi's and bye's and I have to go it's an emergency's. That's about it. For Armaan, he's hurting and staying away from her hurts more. Because he can't get her out of his mind. He's just built that way, and loves her so much it's insane. The biggest difference between the two being that Riddhima finds it easy to stay away because she's already well on her way to 'moving on' and Armaan is...well...

And as an AR fan, just the sight of them on that bench, with Armaan's diary entries echoing in the background, made me resent the CVs more than ever before. Because, like you put it so aptly, it gave me an almost tangible sense of what could have been. All the What-Ifs that made me feel so sad and frustrated...damn. 😔

Yep, watching AR scenes has always been a pleasure. It's just that watching them now is both pleasure and pain. Sigh...😳

P.S. What Armaan said about SR...with all due respect to SR fans, it's one hundred percent true. If you want to term what they have now love, then yeah, maybe they're on their way. But what they had before they married was not it. At all. 😳
