Nausheen Ali Sardar with Bambi (her pug) and Simba(her Rottweiler)
You've heard of actresses in catfights. But have you heard of their pets in dogfights?

Roma Jeswani, claims that her Labrador, Ralph, was attacked by actress Nausheen Ali Sardar's Rottweiler, Simba. Ralph was badly injured and Jeswani's son was hurt too. Jeswani claims that when she called Sardar to inform her about what happened, the former Kkusum was totally unsympathetic.

Simba broke free

Says Jeswani, "On March 2, at 11 pm, Ralph, my son Vinay and I went down for a walk, when suddenly, Nausheen's dog, Simba, who was being walked by her servants, broke free and charged towards Ralph." She adds, "There were three people handling Simba, but they could not stop him.

Ralph couldn't do anything as he was being attacked by a much fiercer dog. My son Vinay also got injured while trying to stop the fight."

Says Vinay, "I injured my leg when I was trying to hold Ralph back. If the fight had got worse, even I would have been bitten by the Rottweiler."

Since Simba was on a chain, the servants managed to pull him back, and Vinay pulled Ralph by his leash and the fight broke up. Ralph was bleeding, so Vinay rushed home to check his wound.

Meanwhile, Jeswani went to Shiv Kutir, the building next to Sweet Home where Nausheen lives, and called her on the intercom. Jeswani alleges she spoke with the actress, who she says was rude. "Instead of apologising, Nausheen said, 'You do whatever you want'. Then she banged the phone down on me."

Aggressive breed

Jeswani and Vinay then took Ralph to vet Dr Umesh Karkare. "The Labrador had an injury close to his spine. I have given him an anti-rabies injection and antibiotics.

His injury should heal within a few days," said Karkare. "Rottweilers as a breed are aggressive and people who own these pets should be sensitised to the violent side of their nature and ensure they are managed properly."

Jeswani says this is all she wants Nausheen to understand. "Rottweilers are huge dogs and people who own them should take extra care handling them as they are aggressive.

They should ensure the people who look after them are properly trained so that such incidents do not happen. Simba was being walked by three people, and none of them could handle him. Nausheen should be more careful," she concludes.

'We will be careful'

Says Nausheen's sister, Soni Ali, "The Labrador was not on a leash and whatever happened was an accident. It was not all Simba's fault. The other dog must also have provoked the fight. We have kept two people to look after the dog when he is taken out. What happened was an accident and we will be more careful now."
