New wave of writers in Bollywood

Devika Bhagat: She is the sole screenplay writer and one of the three dialogues writers of Aisha. She has worked with Yash Raj Films on Bachna Ae Haseeno and Mahi Way and co-wrote the intellectual Manorama Six Feet Under with director Navdeep Singh. She has also worked behind the scenes on the Bourne Supremacy and Monsoon Weddings. She has a pretty impressive resume and is only 30 years old!

Chetan Bhagat: The popular novelist is collaborating with Abhishek Kapoor to bring his book, 3 Mistakes of My Life, to screen. He also wrote the screenplay of Hello, based on his novel, One Night @the Call Centre, which was an utter drag.

Anvita Dutt Guptan: She has hit and soulful songs such as Khuda Jaane, Jaane Kyun (Dostana), and Jab Mila Tu (IHLS), among others. She has also been one of the co-writers on films such as Dostana, Housefull, and Kambakkht Ishq. Aditya Chopra gave her a break with Neal n Nikki, for which she wrote songs and additional screenplay.

Ankur Tewari: He directed Let's Enjoy in 2004. Off late, he has composed music and/or written lyrics for Quick Gun Murugun, Raat Gayi, Baat Gayi? and Aao Wish Karein and written Tum Mile. He has also done cameos in Slumdog Millionaire and Luck By Chance.

Zoya Akhtar: Luck By Chance was a beautifully nuanced film and she penned the story and screenplay. She also wrote Mira Nair's short film Migration and has scripted Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara as well.

Vikramaditya Motwane: He is the writer and director of the critically acclaimed Udaan. Prior to that, he has co-written Dev D with Anurag Kashyap and also worked on De Dhana Dhan Goal.

Rahul Dholakia: He wrote and directed the haunting Parzania and has done the same for Lamhaa which looks like a hard-hitting movie.
