Excerpts from the Interview: Do you feel the pressure, as you are getting into a new film after the success of 'Iqbal'? Every film is a challenge. I didn't stay idle after 'Iqbal'. In fact, I worked on the script of 'Dor', as I was looking forward to come up with something challenging. I hope my new film 'Dor' will live up to the expectations of my fans. Are 'Dor' and 'Ashayein' different films? Yes, they a different projects. I don't have time to start 'Ashayein', as I am currently concentrating on 'Dor'. What is 'Dor' all about? It is an emotional drama that deals with two women. The real life experiences of two women from Kerala inspired me to come up with the script, though I have made some changes to make it interesting. It's all about Zeenat and Meera who contact each other with the help of Shreyas Talpade. It brings to light how women go in search of another woman to save her husband's life. How comes you choose glam doll Ayesha Takia for this serious role? Ayesha Takia and Gul Panag play the role of Meera and Zeenat in the film. Gul is a talented actress, who had done serious roles earlier. But Ayesha has so far associated with glamorous roles. Yet I thought she would fit the bill after seeing her performance in 'Socha Na Tha'.
I would love to work with him always. He is a very talented actor. My film 'Dor' will prove that he can also talk unlike the perception of the people. He is a fun-loving and out-going person but he plays quite a diverse role in 'Dor'. He goes between two women. He is indeed a new find of the film. It was reported that you have fallen out with Mukta Arts. Is it true? Controversy is common but this piece of news reported by the media is wrong. I have no problem with Shubash Ghai whatsoever and we are very much together. I will continue to work with Mukta Arts. In fact, my next film is with the banner. So, I think the rumor is cleared off now. |
