Under what conditions should Jyoti marry Kabir?

Jyoti is standing @ her doorway in the storm. Padma & Dadi come to her, and tell her that she hasn't eaten anything since Kabir left. Padma tells her that since she was the one who insisted on putting Kabir to this test, why is she now worried? (Exactly!!!) She tells Jyoti that stubbornness is the undoing of people.

Then Kabir arrives back, and Jyoti rushes to meet him. They have some romantic moments, and then Kabir goes in to take Padma's blessings. He asks her about KK, and she tells him that he has been advised to be away from any tensions (why do I get this feeling that like Sudhay, it's now KK who's gone?) Dadi tells him that truth is always victorious, and he'll be successful. Kabir asks Jyoti one question - whether she'll still love him if his family rejects the proposal? Jyoti tells him that she doesn't want to live w/ the regret of not having tried, and also that it's their duty to do the karma, and not worry about the results. (Dear, in addition to just the Gita, if you read about the Kurukshetra war, you'll notice that @ no point did Krishna-ji advise Arjun to be a masochist and do things the hard way)

As Kabir leaves, Jyoti watches him from the terrace, and her dupatta flies off and lands on him. He wraps it around himself 😆😆 and then leaves. On the way to Jodhpur, where he's headed, he stops, and calls Jyoti. Sushma & Poonam are ragging Jyoti a bit on her being in love, and grab her phone and are playing handball when it rings. Jyoti manages to get hold of it after a few rings, and talks to Kabir. He tells her that he's just 10km from his family's home. They then have a romantic conversation, during which he visualizes Jyoti sitting on the hood right in front of him, and then disappearing. 😆

After Kabir gets off the phone, his bhabisa, who has overheard something about a proposal for him, calls him after several frantic attempts, and begs him to leave. She's too terrified to say anything (this poor lady's predicament seems to suggest that mahal is a hellhole) Kabir says that he has to confront the truth sooner or later.

Finally, Kabir arrives @ his family home, and is greeted by the servants. There is a crowd of people around his father, and they disperse a bit, and Kabir's father is revealed. He welcomes Kabir into his arms, while Kabir looks @ him surprised.

Comments

For those watching for Jyotir moments, it was a great episode, but otherwise uneventful. Only new face today - Kabir's dad. Somehow, the plight of bhabisa seems to suggest something really spooky about that home - it's heartbreaking to see her cringe like that. That said, I do like the fact that some real men, as opposed to girly-men like KK, Pankaj, Deepu and Mahendranath, are here to join the show. 😆😆 They could just tone down the misogyny, assuming that that's what it is.

Speaking of which, is it just me, or is Jyoti's house now a no-man's zone - today, no KK (explained above), no Deepu, not even Munna!!! So Jyoti would be headed for a pure testosterone zone from a pure estrogen zone 😆 Wonder if she'll give some great bhashans to her bhabisas, or grovel b4 her jeths (no devars in this family, like Uday or Pratik)

Last but not least, maybe it's just me and I'm unfamiliar w/ Rajasthan today, but it did strike me as somewhat strange that the Mewar royal family resides in Jodhpur (which is in Marwar, not Mewar), rather than Udaipur or Chittor. But then again, I'm also surprised that a TV show would show a real family like this in such bad light (as opposed to the Vashists, who are fictional)

The CV's are more concerned about jyoti's marriage than her child.
jyoti has also forgot her child very soon, I dont think anybody will forget about his/her own child so early and that new born baby.

^^^^ You mean that if your baby is stolen from you, but you are told it's dead, and you get to accidentally hug it, you won't all of a sudden forget all your sorrows & be ready to move on? 😈

Frankly, given everything I'm seeing about this new family, methinks little Roshni is better off w/ psycho dad, rather than be introduced into a family where mom & kakisas will be constantly on their toes. Of course, mom could have had it easy had she accepted Kabir's idea to live alone w/ him in Udaipur, instead of re-uniting him w/ his family which is a real zoo, by the look of it

I fully agree with you on this. I really can't understand Jyothi's motherhood, no mother can be so free from her sorrow just within 3 months of losing child (whether stolen or dead)😕😕😕😕. Here she enjoys her love life with Kabir and it takes great impulsive persuasion from Poonam to remember the child. After viewing last 2 episodes, I felt Kabir is an escapist and do not believe in family values. So it is better for Jyothi to resume her life without any male help. She is an educated lady and know how to lead a life of her own. In any case, Pankaj is ensuring that the child gets the best of everything and even the name, so let the child be with him.

thanx vrisha..jyoti is seriously an idiot...the guy who is not even staying wid his family coz he cnt tolerate thm has to now go grovel there coz her highness wants it..i understand abt family relations and all bt jyoti advising kabor on his own family is a little too much..the guy has lot more brains than her bt no,she has to put in her two cents as usual which usually makes no sense..

Sorry Anu (I hope I can call you by name), I don't agree w/ you here.

If Kabir would have said this in the beginning when KK asked him about whether he had informed his parents on this, nobody would have bothered. But he kept them in dark by saying he was waiting Jyothi's consent an dlater said let Jyothi get well etc. Had he said that he is rebellion and he doesn't want to have any relationship with his family in future, they would not have bothered to talk about that over and again. Even Jyothi would have agreed to marry him without any doubt. But he is still inclined to his family (the way he is leading the lavish life, I think still he is depending on his family's fortune. MOre over even now, he didn't say, he will not associate with his family, rather he said they will marry like cowards and then go, announce their marriage to his family. What might happen if they announce it after wedding, god only knows, they either shove them out or they might accept them in the khandan on many conditions, which is not worth risking. Jyothi has already tasted the bitterness of a family who didn't approved her wedding to Pankaj (just on elady was sufficient to show the hell to Jyothi) now if the entire family is against her means, lost the battle. So only Jyothi is insisting on family permission before hand.

ya sure u can call me anu...no need to ask dear..see if kabir is dependant on his parents jyoti is justified..and yes i had forgotten abt the "lets marry and thn tell thm"..my bad..my point is tht jyoti generally has this habit of passing conditions and advice to people who listen to her when she can defo not make any change to her doormattish behaviour in frnt of padma et al..tht is my issue wid the character..as vrisha had mentioned,neeche ko kato and upar ko chato..it is her singularly most irritating aspect..

kabir dsnt deserv conditions..ok so if his family refuses,thn what??she is going to dump kabir??does he deserv tht??family dsnt accept,live independantly if ur capable,and if not,thn forget marrying jyoti,kabir shud not be marrying at all..secondly,she has no right to talk of family acceptance when she herself had not deemed necessary to inform HER family b4 getting married to pankaj eons ago..

Yes you are right with regard to Jyothi's character on imposing conditions on everyone. And you are also right about she didn't informed her family before she married Pankaj. And as we all know, she is reaping the result now for her hurried decision. It is normal tendency of any human who burnt his finger once to feel the scare of fire. She had witnessed it in her life as well as her sisters life (both Sushma & Sudha). Looks like she is cautious this (may be over cautious unnecessarily). But going through the welcome Kabir got from his family, looks like he will not return to Udhaypur immediately (some more drama & trauma) and Jyothi deciding that he left her in the middle of the sea kind of things.
