I am a ladies' man

Says Rohit Roy, talking to Reena Thapar Kapoor about his playboy image, recommending actresses and being a dominating husband

On being a casanova
I've always been branded a casanova. As a bachelor, I thrived on it but never made any conscious effort in to live up to it. Though, I do admit that I'm a charmer and a complete ladies' man. I like women, they're God's most beautiful creation. I do enjoy their company and without sounding too immodest I can say that they too feel comfortable with me. But there is no romantic angle to this. I've shared a great chemistry with most women I've worked with but manged so without controversies.

Deep down every actor worth his name would want to be called casanova as it helps boost popularity. But I've passed that stage in life.

On recommending actresses
That concept works only in the film industry. Yes, producers in the television industry do ask us before selecting an appropriate actor but it's more like an opinion than a recommendation.

People say that I promote Shveta Salve because we did two ad films back-to-back and were cast together in Sarkaar as well.

On waiting for the big break
I do not consider myself less successful than any other actor. I admit that I'm no Hrithik Roshan. But, I've been around for donkey's years and have had my share of fame. I've done both films and TV. People know Rohit Roy as a decent actor and that is what is important.

Yes, I'm still waiting for that one big break which will take me to super stardom. If it happens nothing like it, and if it doesn't I will not fret over it.

On brother Ronit Roy
I've never looked on him as a brother. He was and will continue to be a father figure for me. I was very young when my dad passed away. Ronit is the man I grew up idolising. Despite trying hard, Ronit and I could never be friends.

We have a father-son equation. For instance he does not like me drinking. So, every time I spot him at a party I just push my glass away. Even when Ronit wasn't this successful, he was never greedy for money. We do have our share of fights. He is forever asking me to do things his way and I end up putting my foot down. We agree to disagree over anything and everything.

On being a dominating husband
They say looks are deceptive. My personality is such that I might look the kind who'd boss around at home but trust me it's the other way round.

All my life, I've been dominated by women. Earlier, it was my mother and now it's my wife Mansi. I admit that I have a terrible temper and tend to fly off the handle very often. The truth is that my 'cool due' attitude and the rock star image is just a facade. I'm a simple man at heart.
