Obviously, none of you have been to Punjab, India. Half of the populace is Hindu. Plus, half of the Sikhs of Punjab don't support turbans. Only, some uninformed NRI Sikhs, who have never been to Punjab think that everyone in Punjab is a Sikh, which is totally untrue. Being Punjabi doesn't mean being a Sikh. I have personally been to alot of villages in Punjab and there are alot of villages where the majority is Hindu and they don't support a turban.

FYI, I was born and brought up in Punjab for 17 years of my life.... my husband just came from Punjab a year ago and just for another FYI he is from the same district that they are showing this village from.......and another FYI, My in laws are based in Mohali and majri is not very far from there........ and another FYI that it is true.... in the earlier epiosodes not many panchayat members wore turbans and this time they had mroe showcase of people wearing turbans.... how many neelam kumarisand pushpa ranishave you seen in a punjabi pind....... may be you are new to this forum, but in a previous topic, I had mentioned that in this village they have more people who are migrants from UP/Bihar and they have now settled there........ so it could be those families.....I never said that there are no hindu families in a Punjabi Pind...... there are....... but majority is sikhs and there is no denying in that.........another FYI 90% of village population in Punjab is sikhs and 90% of the elder generation which is our father's or grandfather's generation in Punjab support turban....... yes people of our generation and may be 10% of our father's generation dont wear turbans...... but most of the elderly people do..... so you dont start telling me where I come from and where I dont..... I may know much more than you..... if you want to start that here..... i openly challenge you........and stop pointing fingers at NRIs...... we might be living away from our country, but we keep our culture alive...... I am a proud Sikh, a proud Punjabi and most of all a proud Indian......so you better not comment on what NRIs are and what they arent........if you are a punjabi... you will definitely understand this following statement about your frustration for NRIs......."Hath na pahunche...... thooh kaurri"..............this is a painting of a "satth" of a punjabi pind:::: I am sure if you are a punjabi you know what "satth" is..........
Well, I was also born in Punjab, and I go there quiet often, and do alot of traveling and most of those statistics and info you gave are wrong. I have come across quiet a few children from Sikh NRI families here who are totally brainwashed into thinking that majority of Punjab is Sikh, which it is not and even if it is, it's by a marginal percentage. Most Sikh students that were born here in Canada think that their parents are from khalistan, lol! I remember going to summer school and when the teacher asked a couple of Sikh students "where they were from" they said: "khalistan". Which obviously doesn't exist.
