Following the contemporary technique for movie publicity, Ramesh Sippy's TAXI NO.9211 has tied-up with Yamaha Motors and The Bombay Dyeing. It's for the first time that Yamaha Motor India Sales and The Bombay Dyeing Mfg. Co. Ltd have entered into a movie tie up, starring John Abraham and Nana Patekar in the lead. This movie tie-up certainly appears to be fit; as John Abraham is the brand ambassador for both; Yamaha and Bombay Dyeing. Letting us know more about what made them prefer this movie tie-up, Milan Luthria said, "Obviously John is the common factor for both the movie tie-ups as he is the brand ambassador for both of them."

On asking him about its relevance to the movie, he replied, "Of-course it has relevance with the film; TAXI NO.9211 is all about adventurous ride entwined with speed comprised of action, thrill, comedy, which also symbolizes the speed of Yamaha Motors and John is wearing a same outfit (business suit) throughout the film. That white business suite is a Bombay Dyeing product. By this movie tie-up, it created the sense of relativity, as movies are now becoming an important tool for brands to connect with the end users. It's about mutual benefits for both; the movie as well as for brands."

Observing the recent trend of innovative gimmicks in the industry TAXI NO 9211 also drives in the same speed likewise to HUM TUM (comic-strip in newspaper), VIRRUDH (promoting various products), HOME DELIVERY (stars delivering a branded Pizza's), ZINDA (by branding jewellry) and latest is RANG DE BASANTI (with paints and soft-drink).
