Lalit composes solo for his first film after split By MIO Team Feb 28, 2006, 07:03 | |
Jatin and Lalit one of the most talented and popular composers of Bollywood had parted ways some time back. Lalit has already started composing solo after the split with Jatin and he is making music for a Bengali film for Raja Mukerji's (Rani's brother) directorial debut 'Bidhatar Lekha'. This is his first album as a single composer and he has already recorded six songs for the album. He took up the assignment, as he had known Raja closely for a long time and Raja was interested to let Lalit compose music for his first film. So after the offer was made Lalit didn't hesitate to take it up. He has no issues composing music for a Bengali film as his first assignment and not a Bollywood one. He says that music has no barrier and moreover Raja is giving his film a Bollywood feel. It's a commercial film with softer and melodious tracks. Though Lalit found it hard at the beginning to adjust with Bengali language, he settled fine after sometime with the aid of Mukherji family. He is interested to take up anything interesting coming his way and doesn't mind composing for more Bengali films. However Bollywood tops his preference list. |
