What a FANTASTIC confrontation in the boardroom!

I just have to make this post cuz I want to applaud the entire team of Rishta.com👏👏....what an absolutely BRILLIANT scene in the boardroom in this week's epi....everything starting with the buildup to it....the subtle things leading up to the boiling point....Isha dragging out the situation since the past few weeks and avoiding it....hiding things like her relationship with Ashish from Rohan as well as snubbing him so many times....the signs kept on building up....everytime Rohan tried to talk to her about either the offer or even Ashish one time, she snubbed him....early on in the epi, we saw Rohan begin to lose his cool about the situation and snap back a bit when Isha again didn't want to discuss the India Marriages issue....but that was just an early sign....the status quo continued to be there....there were other things on Rohan's mind....the Ashish issue....the sadness and frustration about it continued to build since the past few weeks....then came the 'independent partnership' issue....and at that point in time, Rohan refused....without a moment's thought....to him, R.com was about him and Isha and he never wanted to leave that......but then things changed.

Rohan obviously could have no idea WHY Huzeifa changed his mind about India Marriages....LOL Huzeifa's reeling from his own disillusionment about seeing his "idol" Mr. Kohli behaving in not quite as 'idol-worthy' a manner as he must have expected😆.....so he changed his mind....but how was poor Rohan to know?.....

Just before the meeting, there were even more signs that Rohan was at the end of his tether....when he sees Ashish in the break room and totally snubs him, refusing to even say a 'hi'....and then Isha snaps at him as usual telling him that he just ruined her mood by mentioning India Marriages again.

I LOVED how the atmosphere in that boardroom got more and more charged by the minute.....the lines were set....the anger and frustration b/w Rohan-Isha was now tangible....it had now come down to this....a battle of votes.....and as each person gave their vote, the way the expressions changed across Rohan-Isha's face were very interesting to watch....with each 'yes', Isha had a subtle, but satisfied expression growing on her face....and Rohan's frustration continued to grow....I must pause here and just applaud Kavi Shastri for the BRILLIANT expressions he had in this bit👏👏👏....and I haven't even gotten to THE most charged part of the confrontation yet....but just the way his expressions would change in this bit...the way he looked at Ruchika as she said 'yes'....he'd expected that in a way....and the piercing hawk-like stare at Ashish when he gave his vote....just WOW, Kavi👏👏.....and then came the final blow....from the only person he'd been confident would say a 'yes'....Huzeifa was nervous....he anticipated the blow-up, but he said yes anyways....and that's when Rohan burst out.....and man oh man, did I LOVE this bit or WHAT! THIS is what fantastically written, directed and enacted drama looks like!👏👏👏.....LOVED how Rohan burst out and first rounded on Huzeifa expressing his utter disbelief that HE of all ppl is now saying no when HE was the one the most keen on it all along! He had been utterly isolated by everyone....and the hurt, anger and frustration all came pouring out....Isha showed no hint of maturity about handling this situation and instead accused Rohan of trying to pressurize Huzeifa....and then Ashish the idiot decided to chime in...LOVED how Rohan rounded towards him and told him to shut up cuz this is b/w him and Isha👏.....I wanted to jump into the screen and kiss him for doing that😆....and I loved HOW he said it too....the 'abey tu chup kar yaar, this is b/w me and Isha' way he said it😆....and Isha defended Ashish....asked Rohan to apologize to him....Rohan's hurt and frustration showed even more when he said, 'you want me to apologize to HIM?! You're taking HIS side?!".....but not Isha, nor anyone else there seemed to realize how many weeks of hurt, sadness and frustration had led to that point....Finally Rohan stormed out with a 'tell them the deal's off!" parting shot.

I'm reading that a lot of ppl here are sad and upset about this confrontation....I'm not really sad about this per se as much as I'm sad that writing, direction and acting of THIS calibre is being taken away from us SO unfairly.....this epi just made me admire R.com more than ever....what a freakin BRILLIANT show this is and there will be no more R.com after June 30th?? And I just feel terrible about THAT! I trust the show to give us a great ending....so I'm not worried about that....but I can't digest that actors as brilliant as Kavi, Shruti, Kavin and the entireeeeeeeee ensemble cast we'll never get to see again.....

Anyways, getting back to the show....the pre-cap is very interesting....Isha finally seems to be realizing how much she's pushed Rohan away.....I'm intrigued to see what more drama is in store for us next week.

There was this one shot in the end after that client calls Rohan-Isha on the conference call and says, "mujhe pata nahin ki tum dono ab saath ho ki nahin"....that line saddened me....and then the shot after that when Rohan walks out of his office and stares out while standing on the landing and after a few minutes, Isha walks out as well.....Rohan turns to look at her after a minute and she does as well before walking away.....very well shot scene....and man, Kavi and Shruti are SO brilliant in these roles....I don't want to imagine the time when we won't get to see them on our screens

Anyways, to end my rambling.....a HUGE round of applause to the entire team....ESPECIALLY Kavi and Shruti for the brilliant way they've enacted the drama building up these past few weeks....and the director Rishab Seth for directing it all so well👏

Really well said!

It was great acting. And not as melodramatic as a typical Indian serial. Loved that scene. Really made the whole episode worth it.

And though I've never been a big Rohan fan because of his womanizing & flirting ways, I actually did feel bad for him. Esp when he is at the India Marriages office and looks like he does not want to be there.

Also - I really dislike how Isha treats Rohan like crap & gives him these mean glares but when it's Aashish she becomes a total softie. Poor Rohan, huh? I never thought I'd be on his side!

But I do understand Huzeifa backing out...that Mr Kohli was a sleaze-ball!

Ahhh...Well written Anu!! I lovedd the confrontation scene...and you have mentioned all the fluctuating emotions, reactions and expressions taking place in that scene....Kavi was FANTASTIC in that scene AND a special mention for Rishab Seth too...Brilliantly shot scene IMO. It was charged with tension. The scene took me in...I can FEEL the tension as if I was in the room. The way Rohan reacted to each of the answers...Brilliant! And the final bit when he actually started shouting....ahhh...Give him an award someone!! And then the way he told Ashish off...waahhh...his words were rude but his tone delivered more than what the words did....He put him in his place and told him what he thinks of him in one sentence flat....followed with an equally excellent exit...

*sigh* Tell me about it...I cant believe ppl can be this blind and stupid...I don't want it to end..The show, the characters and the story have a lot of potential to grow...If only they are given a chance...

Anu, thank you for making this topic. As I don't make topics...lol...so I was waiting for someone to post how BRILLIANT this epi was....and didn't want to spoil the sad mood of ppl by commenting how much I like the confrontation scene, the epi and to see RI relationship unbalanced...😆

i ditto u on all of that above - and most of all on ho i was not disappointed at all - the height of my personal reaction to the character story is proof of the excellent execution - AND the realism of bringing out such points in the plot of r.com ... an ode to the writing of this drama is one no one can manage enough!

cheers,

Anu, great post!👏 Agree with each and every word you have said.

Rohan's outburst was fabulous, and totally justified IMO. For the past few episodes, we have witnessed all the circumstances that led upto this outburst. From the time that Ashish set his feet inside Rishta.Com, things had started working adversely for Rohan. First he saw Ashish taking his place in Isha's life. Then came this India Marriage offer. Isha practically left no stone unturned to make Rohan feel like some insensitive shrewd businessman, by all her justifications for not accepting the India Marriage proposal. Her behavior towards Rohan changed for that reason, and she even stopped spending as much time with him. She hid her relationship with Ashish from Rohan and even lied about it, while Rohan could clearly see that something was cooking between the two. This is likely to make anyone feel frustrated. Rohan's frustration, jealousy, and the feeling of being isolated finally made him blow at everyone.

I really felt sad watching the boardroom scene. One by one, everyone actually isolated him. The only one who was on the same page with him, that old man, wasn't even someone who matters to him. He took the refusal of Ruchika well, and also Vignesh's one. But finally Huzeifa also turned his back on him. The only person about whose support Rohan was so sure of, he also left Rohan alone. And Isha's 'lag toh aisa hi arah hai Rohan', in that smug, matter-of-fact, devoid of any friendly emotion, made her suddenly seem so detached from Rohan. And her intervening, when Rohan was just showtung at Huzeifa ruined things further. I was actually quite pissed at Isha. She claimed that Rohan is the one who can't bear to lose, but for the first time she came off to me as someone whose ego is larger than her so-called caring nature. Her side of the story was very realistic, but unfortunately it was only Rohan who could garner my sympathy. He was the one who was left alone....not she. The ever so considerate Isha, never really showed her considerate avatar when it came to Rohan. She is so used to being curt and rude with him that she takes it for granted that he has no emotions. And poor Rohan probably even realized were he stands in her life due to her secrecy and all the other sort of behavior towards him.

And how dare she ask him to apologise to the chipkali Ashish? Rohan should apologise to that worthless, cheap, pathetic guy? We repeatedly saw how much Rohan cares about Isha but doesn't really express it verbally. And what did we see of Isha? Since Rohan never whines about his feelings to her, she actually forgot that he is also a person, with emotions, capable of being hurt. I didn't expect this from Isha. And Huzeifa.....he should have at least told Rohan about his change of decisions before publicly announcing it. His business-minded words did influence Rohan to an extent. I am sure that if he had given negative answer to the deal before, Rohan would never have bursted out at him like that. Rohan would never have thought about the matter so deeply either.

Overall, everyone did a fabulous job. Kavi was outstanding in portraying all those emotions that he kept to himself for so many days, and that he finally took out on everyone. Absolutely brilliant!

Remember when I said last week that I didn't feel sad for Rohan as of then? Rishab Seth really left no stone unturned :P The moment Huzeifa said no...it was Rishta.com's first 'punch in the gut' sort of moment. The sheer betrayal that Rohan felt in that moment...the way it escalated, the dialogues, Rohan storming out only to turn pensive...and the conference call, it was the icing on the cake that magnified the whole episode by a thousand times. To see how the case correlated with him, with them, and how it so beautifully justified Rohan 'parting ways'...it was done brilliantly. The way they both came out of their offices and stood looking over what they have made together, caring so much for each other yet at such a junction in life. Did anyone find the background score so, so beautiful? It truly wouldn't have been as powerful and touching without it. One of the best scenes in the entire series.

I'm undeniably sad that an actor like Kavi Shastri will not get to be on TV anymore with the once-in-a-blue-moon, brilliant character he got to play. Forget the others, it's this guy that I wish the show was renewed for, because when will there ever be another Rohan?

The ever so considerate Isha, never really showed her considerate avatar when it came to Rohan. She is so used to being curt and rude with him that she takes it for granted that he has no emotions. BRILLIANT point, Mels! Exactly....you've hit the nail on the head....and I think the precap is a further indication of this.....she has become so used to being curt and rude to him, it's practically become her way of life when it comes to Rohan....but things have gone too far this time....and it is indeed beyond ironic that the usually oh so considerate Isha didn't even show an ounce of consideration for Rohan in this case....her mind has totally been closed off about the India Marriages thing since day one and Rohan has had to bear the brunt of it....And poor Rohan probably even realized were he stands in her life due to her secrecy and all the other sort of behavior towards him.

And how dare she ask him to apologise to the chipkali Ashish? Rohan should apologise to that worthless, cheap, pathetic guy? LMAOOO Chhipkali?? PERFECT, Mels!🤣.....Seriously chhipkali hi hai! Pathetic loser! And it bugs the hell out of me how defensive Isha is about him....he's like her guilty little pleasure/secret whatever you want to call it and she's been behaving DAMN weirdly and out of character ever since she's hooked up with him😕😕

Overall, everyone did a fabulous job. Kavi was outstanding in portraying all those emotions that he kept to himself for so many days, and that he finally took out on everyone. Absolutely brilliant!
Yep, Kavi was the star of this epi for me too.....just too outstanding.....he stole the show....especially in the boardroom confrontation

DITTO, Fatty! Beautifully said yaar! It was the biggest dramatic moment in R.com so far without a doubt....'a punch in the gut' as you very eloquently put it....the kind of scene that makes you sit up and go 'woah!'....just pulls you in....the graph of that scene was just amazing....I'm in awe of the way it was enacted and directed....To see how the case correlated with him, with them, and how it so beautifully justified Rohan 'parting ways'...it was done brilliantly. Oh I SO agree yaar......it was an amazingly touching moment....shot beautifully as you pointed out and the bg music was just perfect for it....very powerfully poignant and sad moment indeed.....along with how it was shot, I loved how Kavi-Shruti enacted that bit as well.....I felt for these characters....especially for Rohan....that sadness of that scene was so tangible.

I think it's an ego issue for both of them now....Isha's made it an ego battle from her side as well.....she's always been condescending towards Rohan and this time she's taken it too far by PRESUMING a lot of things that aren't really there....she's taken her presumptive condescension too far....and that is why things have led to this blowing up point....even earlier in the epi, they foreshadowed with R-I discussing the Vaibhav-Sapna case and Isha commenting about how they are going through an ego battle....I think she failed to realize how much of an ego battle her and Rohan had started to go through these past few weeks.
