i am posting on this forum for the first time, and the article prompted me to come here, and i went thro a couple of posts on this forum, and hence, am making this post...
i think stars have a right to their own life, do thngs like you and i do.. and also take a break when they want to...
yes they are working to entertain you, and you love them, but, you dont stop doing your day to day activities, and stop leading your day to day life, for the sake of your favorites... you study, you work, and then at the end of the day, you turn to these characters for relaxation.. and may be even get attached to them, because they do their job well...
i have seen this happen with DMG, MJHT and curiosity pulled me to this forum as well after reading the article... and i not surprised...
fans today have moved into a fatalistic mode, and have come down deciding what an actor is supposed to do, and how he should stick to a show just because they love him/ her... what is an actor to do if his track ends? is it his/her fault if he wants to do other things in life? we also, want variety in life.. every year, in school, we go into a new class, and look forward to it when we are in school... when we finish college, we look forward to joining a job, and then, we think of finding a life partner and settling down... why do we then become selfish, just because we love an actor who plays a role in a show, when he/she also has the right to do what he likes ?
there is nothing wrong in liking a show and growing fond of the actors who play it...
why do we forget its a show? whose fault is it if you start to believe these characters are for real? you laugh with them, cry with them, and grieve their death... celebrate a birth? but it has to end somewhere? why not here?
