Sony TV launches new shows

Sony Entertainment Television Asia has exclusively informed BizAsia.co.uk its planned changes to its current line-up to introduce new shows.

Comedy Circus Ke Superstars
For the first time in 'Comedy Circus' new partners will challenge the Champions of comedy.

Both teams will perform in the episode and at the end of every episode Champions will select one Jodi-from the challengers to be in their team, the last challenger Jodi left will get eliminated. Post this all the Jodis will perform every week with one Jodi getting eliminated and finally we will have 1 winner Jodi.

The show will be judged by regular, Archana Puran Singh, plus one other yet to be confirmed. It will include the following list of Champion Jodis: Krushna and Sudesh, Ali and Swapnil and Rajiv and Saloni.

The Challenger Jodis include: Natasha (lead of Laddo - Seeya) - Kapil Sharma (Stand-up comic), Priya Marathe (sister of Pavitra Rishta ' Varsha) - Sunil Pal (Stand-up comic), Suraj Thappar (celebrity) - VIP (Stand-up comic TBC), Bharti (celebrity) ' Paresh Ganatra (Stand-up comic), Wild Card Challenger Jodi ' Abhishek (Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya ' Lead) ' Maski (stand-up comic).
Comedy Circus Ke Superstars starts on Saturday 22nd May at 21:00

New dramas
The much awaited launches of 'Maan Rahe Tera Pitah' (pictured) and 'Toh Baat Hamari Pakki Hai' will also launch in the coming weeks. 'Toh Baat Hamari Pakki Hai' will launch on Monday 31st May at 20:30. 'Maan Rahe Tera Pitah' will launch at 20:00 from Tuesday 1st June. Both shows have an initial four-month contract with the channel.

Indian Idol 5
The popular reality TV series is shown currently Monday to Thursday at 21:00. It will then become a bi-weekly airing on Monday and Tuesdays from Monday 17th May. The finale of 'Indian Idol 5' will be broadcast on Sunday 1st August.

Boogie Woogie
The new series kicks off on Wednesday 19th May. It will air Wednesday and Thursdays at 21:00. The show will initially be aired for 90 minutes before being reduced to 60 minutes from Wednesday 16th June.

Yash Raj TV Shows
A new Yash Raj TV show will replace 'Powder' on Thursday 8th July. 'Seven' and other Yash Raj TV shows will go off air in July too.
