I don't think in today's world any woman can be like Savitri. Its practically impossible! So does this mean no one can do the vrat? Things are different in today's world as opposed to what hpnd long long ago! No one needs to be as good as Savitri to keep the vrat. If that was the case no one can keep the vrat! I don't think Suman insulted anyone here!

in todays world no woman can be like savitri...i agree...
but again no one can be like suman too....having one legal husband and another one as Dil ka....we are making reference for that....
Savitri fought against yamraj....cant suman could have fought again world to live on her not just world this TM only....cant she leave the TM at that time and go to Bhopal....
My take....again.....as i want girl to stand on her own.....

Does this mean any woman who has lost her husband shud just fight her world on her own and stand on her own feet and not get married at all??? Only then she is good like Savitri? I feel a widow should have all options open in front of her just like a normal girl will.

If Suman fell in love with Kartik and married him fine its up to her to chose which way she wants to go its her life after all! Coz she was still a widow at the time she got married to Kartik. So what mistake did she do in getting married to him? I don't see anything wrong.

Savitri fought against Yamraj agreed. How does Suman fighting the world and standing on her own feet same as Savitri fighting against Yamraj? It still means Suman is making a life of her own without Karan and living in this world and accepting the happy and sad moments that life has to offer isnt't it? It means she is moving on in life! One does not need to be married to move on isn't it? So does that mean she betrays Karan just by living her life?

Savitri wudve definitely not do so! So the only choice if she has to match Savitri is die along with Karan which is a outdated view and as far as I am concerned illegal as well in present times!

And moreover I would like to say that our shastras of hindu dharma has made provisions for widow remarriage! And also divorce! It is there clearly stated in shastras about this! So what Suman did is not a modern thing or anything. The shastras have provided provision for it. The sad part is since sati came in many people think Hindu religion just says widow shud die with husband or spend their life all alone crying about their lost husband. It is sadly not so! But only the bad gets highlighted and not the good hence lots of misconceptions!
