hey guys Am back again to bug you all

well i am today genuinely confused abt something and hence wanna ask u somethings may be you could help so my fellow MJHtians please if you could join me

ok so as i was saying season 2 mania on the loose

boy has this news been driving us crazy each MJHTian is mad as hell and going crazy trying to figure out not only who's gonna die - ( which is at present such a hot topic i see nearly 2 pages of Locked posts by poor preeti citing dont discuss this here we have a sticky as the reason - man so many posts on 1 thing) .. lets skip this now shall we

ok where were we .. ya season 2 - well i am not about here discussing who'd die or not cause i dont think at the end of it we make any difference the cv's do as they please - cause if we did have our way there wouldnt have been a season 2 in the first place

thou some PH ppl may have stated they conducted some poll on facebook which made them go this way i really dont think anyone here was aware of actually such a thing - nor was actually there a possibility of any member suggesting the death of a lead - common people i mean fine we may war like hell here over our favorite jodis but each one of us likes to have some fun and so we watch this show not the sad sob stories like our mums do - frankly i dont get it why is this country obsessed with crying shrieking women ?😕

so anyways does anyone actually feel there is a chance in hell here for season 2 to work ?
personally i dont feel so - reason i have seen only 3 shows on air to date with sequels lets analyze shall we

1 kutumb - season 1 superhit season 2 bombs as hell
2 Dill mill Gayye - a sequel to sanjeevani - as it was launched - both super hits in their own rights ; but hold on season 2 of the same DMG - once known as the face of star one - tanks - conclusion get Karan Singh Grover back again to save the dipping TRP's
3 Khichdi - did mediocre well in its sequel

now this trend is aped from the west but doesnt work in India - reason well simple it not being actually a seasonal break

In west as we see a new season for a show means - a break actually from the show - a couple of months of it being off air - where writers actually can think and relax write things which perhaps may be inspired by current happenings as well as the break ensures the creative juices keep flowing in their minds

but here - here in the name of a new season all we are dished is crap - yes crap actually

cause season 2 doesnt mean a story which starts where season 1 ended and picks up pace no rather it means a leap infused with fresh faces in abundance where each day you just try to figure out who is who for a few days really

the new season is not even followed up with a break no it just starts on sometimes the next day ( as can happen in MJHT) or week itself as season 1 ends

now i dont watch DMG now but at a time when Shilpa - the 1st riddhima was in it watched a few scenes now and then as i had time and must say the show back then was fantastic - i actually used to enjoy it - cause it was fresh new and yes had no hiccups

i was subjected however to the horror of its season 2 just this week - ya with nothing on TV and time to kill at a relative' place i had to watch it too - and boy was it horrible - armaan - KSG - the same man brought back to save the dipping trps was dancing rather funnily with 2 guys doing some weird stuff called JP and Jiggy - ahh yes rem saw them in the merger episode too - well it was a disaster

kinda made my heart sink 4 those poor DMG guys - what a sad reflection has become of a show which has been the longest on air on star one and was called the face of it too - i mean common how many shows has it survived lets see - MJHT, LNMDJ, India calling, Nimmo to name a few .. and is still on air thou not as it used to be

MJHT sadly will now join its ranks too cause as i see it whomsoever is killed as will be revealed perhaps only n season 2 will along with him/her also be accompanied on the way to exit by another few brilliant crew members - namely Jas Navina & Abhishek

the 3 who would remain will really have it tough to actually take it from there - cause not only will their survival be mean a fight for screen space with those who are new but also the responsibilty on their shoulders solely too

i mean we wont expect those newbs to actually win us over on day 1 or 2 right ?? may be never as well - season 2 along with it is not bringing along freshness as per me but actually taking away the whole feel and pulse of the show too

so my friends as i said i was confused - well now is my question to you - should there actually be these so - called seasonal breaks or season 2 on a show aired on Indian TV ?

please do share your views

note : mods please dont close this topic i am not asking or discussing MJHT season 2 - no rather a question in general for a season 2 of any Indian show on air

guys please stick to the topic no sajan or mayur here OK enough of bashing and name calling chill man - just 2 more days to this OK - so forget all of this - be kind to me and all those people who made you love this show too

It is a decent idea, but has a couple of flaws.

Firstly in India, you rarely see an actor shooting for more than one daily serial. The pressure of doing one is in itself so huge that he hard gets time to do another.

If the soaps do take a seasonal break ( say 2-3 months), you

1.) make the actor jobless

If the actor switches to another serial in order to get work, the chances of him coming back to the original serial are next to zero if he cannot leave his present assignment.

2.) run the risk of alienating fans and reducing interest. Huge amounts of advertising would have to be pumped in when the show returns to regenerate interest and buzz in the audience.

The only thing on Indian television that take the seasonal break are reality shows- KBC, Indian Idol et al.

Don't think we'll ever get a daily soap going that route, not in the near future at least

aekiel i know what u mean and dear thanks a ton 4 ur reply but my question is actually to ask should we have such so called seasonal breaks cause as far as i see things wont work - thye were unable to handle 9 characters at a time - rem adhiraj and suhani - when they came it was 9 of them then

with 7 originals and 2 new added merely they failed to lure us - and now with 3 old and god only knowing how many new in this so called season 2 of mjht do u think thye'd be able to provide justice

i personally still see a lot of scope in the existing cast and jodis and dont feel we need newbs

the only scope i dont see is in the cv's cause they are killing the same show they made us luv and ya gonna serve us crap in the name of something new

Whether or not the show should take a break depends on how far the creatives can stretch the show.

Personally speaking, I'm all for the idea of a two- three month break for the soaps. If the creatives can come up with a decent storyline as a replacement, then the show might actually do much better than it was doing earlier.

But we've got practical issues with the break thingy.

I mentioned two in my first post.

The other is getting a replacement show while the original takes a break. Getting a replacement show becomes even more difficult if the original show was in a prime time slot ( like MJHT is). And then, it will look odd to phase out the replacement show in two or three months just to make way again for the original.

i on the contrary think we should......but the seasons break should be well planned...not completely put of the blue....
like the show should have 100 well planned episodes then a break of around a month and then again 100 episodes, this will help the stories to be spaced out better and yes give time for the creatives to ponder over the story line
But sadly in Indian TV,they take seasons breaks at the wrong time,at the wrong place in the story and yes for the WRONG reasons!thats why the seasons breaks never work......if they get the hang of how to use seasons to improve the flow of the story line then it wud be good....
in ashow like MJHT they cud have taken a breajk everytime the studenst progress to a new class......
but sadly our MJHT gang even afetr 2 years hasnt graduated!

I think it isnt a bad idea at all. It kinda draws interest infact...and story stays fresh .. things arent stretched (or seem that way).. you dont run out of ideas that quickly..you give actors their breaks... i think its a really good idea...cause then actors CAN do more than one show at a time..and get time for vacations instead of MAKE time for vacations...

thats y i love American television because the shows dont seem led on.. boring.. stretched.. annoying after a while..it keeps my interest thinking OMG i CANT WAIT till septemember new season of blah blah.. etc..

Ya sure why not if it's done in a nice way then the CV's should go for it but after like 2 years of DMG and 400 episodes of MJHT doing a season finale is too late and also is a pretty dumb idea if it was like 25 episodes then it would make sense.
