hey! im back! :) i had a lot of comp problems due to which i couldn't come online 😡..but here goes the update..and things are starting to change from now on 😉

PART 6

Siddhant felt bad about cancelling the date again. Hell, he didn't even know why he badly wanted to go! She was sure something, he smiled at the thought. He was broken out of his reverie by Vikram, who came to him with a glass in his hand.

" hey, ur not drinking? C'mon have this!" vikram handed the glass to him.

" no, I don't drink.." he smiled politely.

Vikram chuckled " I have no plans to get u drunk..its just champagne, won't do anything.."

" okay.." he said and took the glass from him. He sipped it, it sure tasted weird but after drinking it for a while, he got used to it.

Riddhima was angry beyond words. He had cancelled the date , AGAIN! How dare he? Did he think he was too hot? Okay, she had to admit he was hot. But he had not right to cancel the date.

She sat down on the couch, helpless and tired of all the pacing around she was doing. Rahul was out surprisingly, so she had the house to herself.

'I shouldn't have agreed to the date at all, I should've played hard to get', she thought miserable. Then it dawned upon her, he was married, for shouting out loud. How can she even think of him in such a way? She was obviously just a friend to him. She sighed, she knew this wasn't going to work out but there was a tiny inch of hope in her heart.

When the phone rang, she hoped it was Sid, but it was just Leena.

" hey, guess what we found that location where you'll attend ur mom's funeral" the voice on the phone spoke.

" oh that's great, where is it? " she asked interested.

" uh actually we had to create it.." leena said with a sheepish smile.

" oh okay…so the studio?" riddhima smiled.

" yeah, the studio..be there at 9..u know this is the climax, and this has to be good!" leena warned her in a friendly tone.

" sure.." she said before they bid their byes.

She checked her watch, it was around 3. She spent the rest of the day rehearsing for the scene. It was pretty tough and required a lot of emotion. By 8, when Rahul arrived with dinner, she was almost perfect.

" looks like someone's been working hard.." rahul complimented after seeing her demonstrate the scene to him.

" thank you.." she bowed down dramatically.

" come lets eat, I picked up noodles from the best chinese restaurant!" rahul grinned.

" omg..come lets go.." she pulled his hand and led him to the kitchen. He stared at her while she was dancing around with excitement.

He served it to both their plates, and they sat in front of the TV. Rahul switched it on, and he saw ' Vengeance' on air.

" hey, I was an assistant director for this one.." rahul said with a smile.

Riddhima who was busy eating, looked up when he said that. It was a kissing scene, which was hot, she had to admit. She got a closer look of the guy, and her blood boiled.

" uh rahul, im not really into such movies, so do u mind changing?" she asked a bit awkward.

" riddhima, are u kidding?..last week, you were all for romance, and this is high-class romance. You don't want to watch it?" he asked, taken aback.

" im just not in the mood.." she said, rather unconvincing.

" okay if u insist.." rahul said, but he still didn't figure out the actual reason but he knew he had to find out. He changed the channel taking one last look at the scene,it was a kissing scene, sure, that wasn't the problem. Actors? Armaan Maalik and Nikita Maholtra, whats wrong with that?

Riddhima walked into the studio wearing a jeans skirt with an off-shoulder blue top. She had checked the list outside, she was to go to the 2^nd floor. When she advanced towards the elevator, she saw Armaan dressed in pure Armani. He was holding a girl by the waist and was looking at her with a sly smile. Before he could see her, she fled from there. When she knew she was at safe distance, she breathed a sigh of relief. Why was she so scared? Yeah, he had been haunting her ever since the incident, but there was no reason to be scared of him. He probably doesn't even remember her. She took the stairs, and went upstairs. She saw Leena and the crew there.

" hey riddhima, good ur early..u have an interview in 5 mins, manish here, will get u ready! Be quick, and act ur best since this is your first impression, got it?" leena said in one breath.

" woah chill, yeah I got it.." she said and went in with manish. He handed her a knee-length strapless red shiny dress. It was gorgeous, from all angles. She quickly wore it, and her make-up was done. When she went out, leena winked at her, and she smiled. She saw the guy who was to interview her, and he didn't like quite bad himself. He had a little of a stubble, was dressed in a white tee with torn jeans.

" hey ,abhimanyu.." he shook her hand.

" riddhima gupta.." she said with sophistication which amazed herself.

" okay, so lets begin?" he asked.

She nodded with a nervous gulp, but she was pretty sure she could manage.

" First things first, how did u land the role?"

" well..i bumped into leena at the market and she decided to give me the role.." she joked.

" u caught me there for a second.."

" uh, I just went for the audition, and surprisingly got it!" she smiled at her luck.

" hmm, that's surely lucky, to say the least!" he remarked.

" yeah sometimes god is just too blissful.."

" have to agree on that!..so tell us about your role.."

" its of a girl, very innocent, who falls into the wrong hands and what circumstances do to her!.."

" that's interesting..any more offers yet?"

" well no, but after this interview I hope there will be!"

" oh surely they will, ur too pretty for anyone to resist.."

" thank you.." she smiled.

" so good luck for your film..n I hope ill get to interview you in the near future too.."

" surely.."

With that, they finished the interview and Riddhima had to get back to shoot. Leena told her it went pretty well, and she was glad. They shot the scene, and at the end, she got really nervous of the result.

" wow, that is amazing, guess what, im giving u a total 50 on this.." leena smiled.

" omg thank you!.." she grinned happily.

" u totally deserve it!"

She watched as Leena took out her cheque book, and paid her fifty thousand. She took it with trembling hands, wondering If it was for real. It was surely great to receive your first salary, but it was sad she had no one to share it with. ' I always have Rahul', she thought and headed home with a smile on her face.

When she reached home, she saw him on TV. He was watching Vengenance as if he was really interested in it. She tried to push those thoughts back, but one look at the screen and they towered over.

" hey rahul.." she announced.

" oh hi.." he said turning around to face her, but saw her staring at the screen with a rather odd expression.

He looked at it, got the clue and shut the TV. She smiled in return.

" guess what?..i got my first pay cheque!" she beamed.

" what?..thats awesome..how mch?" he asked happily.

" a whole 50, baby!" she grinned.

" wow..someone needs to give a treat.." he teased.

" sure..get ready..we're going out for lunch!.." she smiled, before dashing off to her room. He went to his room, and changed.

" so where are we going?" he asked when they were seated in the car.

" you'll see…" she winked.

He shook his head, there was no use trying to get it out of her. After what seemed like an eternity to him, they reached the place. It had the most beautiful view ever!

It had a lake view, and Riddhima ushered him in, to a private table for them. She smiled seeing his astounded expression while all he could do was stare.

" like it?" she asked.

" you kidding?" he turned to face her.

" yeah..come lets go.." she took his hand and moved toward the table. The rest of the day was spent chatting, laughing and going on drives.

After a few days when she was busy with promotions, and was seated in leena's office, sid called her. She picked it up excited, though she cursed herself for it.

" hey..so I saw u in the newspapers.." sid remarked.

" oh?..well yeah my promotions are going on.." she said.

" that's nice..so my film is releasing day-after, I want u to come.." he said.

" are you sure..i mean.." she began.

" yeah riddhima..ure a friend remember?" he cut her off.

" okay ill try sid..i can't promise.." she said and he sensed her discomfort.

" im not going to force you..but I would really like it if u came.." he said before cutting the phone.

She smiled, he really was a nice guy but he was married.She needed to go, atleast as a friend, she knew. She was just dreading that she'll see him with his wife and that, she won't be able to take. She kept debating wether she should go or not.

great part i hope she doesnt fall 4 sid 😡

aish! for some reason i have not received update pms for this fic past the intro stage - and only when it popped up on my posts did i realize you were 6 chapters done! - have read upto chapter 3 now - and i have to say its one slick fic with so many suave characters - i like the easy flow of story much more than occasional plotting fictions!

kudos - this is very good indeed! and hardly anything gritty like a first writing!
