Note:

Here is another song that is a playful romantic song. Though it could go in as a romantic song, but one can just tell by the lyrics that this is not that serious and its playful. The music helps support the non-serious tone of the song. So this selection fits as well. And though the music is kind of dance like, it's just not fast enough for dance song.

Good singing by Madhusree!

Never heard this song, whatever though. Kind of annoying it how it starts. Once Madhushree starts singing, it turns out to be good. Nice singing to start out, simple rhythm. Good voice quality, but not very difficult, it gets a little more difficult as she is required to sing in a higher pitch right after Udit says his first lines.

And then in the middle, there is some solid singing done as well. Later on, she adds more expression and feeling to her singing making it better.

Overall, this was good singing. There were some more difficult parts, which she did well, but most of it was simple. Nice voice quality, and nice singing overall.

I like this song, not as much as other Madhu-⭐️Udit⭐️ songs like 'Sau Janam' or 'Hum Hain Iss Pal Yahan'. Uditji tends to benefit from having Madhu as a co-singer and they're both Rahman favourites. Thanks to ARR for giving all Udit fans such a lovely updated interpretation of Uditji's voice. Love the over-synthed sound production!

In this song, Udit overshadows Madhu I think, due to his cool rap 😎 and AWESOME expression. If the purpose of music is to move you emotionally, then Udit serves that purpose beautifully. Madhushree is also excellent in her expression, but her rendition is less immediate than Udit's.

In the 90's I would have given Madhushree's singing 7/10 because her high notes and some of the 'jumping note' sections (hate that term, but have to use it) and of course the feel. But it's obvious that a lot of software has been used to synth the voices, which makes the singing much easier than otherwise. For example, the ascending 'heyyy' sung by Uditji right at the end is clearly a technical achievement more than a vocal one.

I'll stick to 6/10.

This was terrible. I could feel the fun part of the song, but what about melody? Did it go for a walk or what?
Anyways, coming to the song, Madhushree ji's voice was digitally mastered, which brings in minus point(s), the tune was terrible, everything out of order. But I think her voice had that playfulness to it. I think Udit ji overshadowed her most of the time, except the last part, where she finally came into tune. The ending was perfect(can't think some other term) in terms of melody. I'll give it a 6!

Oh come on Debu, there was a clear melody line! The beauty of the song is that it nonchalant and goes here there and everywhere - it's the lovely contradiction of having an organic tune mixed with highly digitized production!

Rule of thumb with Rahman: listen to Rahman's more experimental songs more than once in a row for them to 'grow' on you.

Anyway, 6/10 is probably the fair score.

Yeah, that's the problem for me you know: the tune shouldn't be bouncing here and there, or else a proper rendition cannot come out. For me, sometimes too high, followed by too low is like torture to my ears. Well, different folks have different strokes!
As far as Rehman's experiments go, of late, listen to 'Behene De' or 'Ranjha Ranjha', and then let me know of what you feel about those experiments compared to these.

Exactly, that is perfect syncronization because the experiments were optimum, not extreme.
