Diya before I begin...lemme give a disclaimer
this post may not suit most of you guys..so read it at yer own risk 🤣
ok well I have always had to try harder to comprehend Samrat..sometimes my firends (read baji) have toiled nite n day to expalin with no avail..well after the bet, suhani even the V-day fiasco I could give the guy a benefit of his past leading to his insecurities..but rite now all he needs is ANGER MANAGEMENT classes.. 🤣 In tonights epi he came across as almost a neurotic...I am not going to contemplate on the SG interplay that may follow coz clearly you guys have speculated all the possibilities but I once again want to emphasize on how disappointing the characterization of the leads are...
Case in point.. No 18yr old guy/gal living in a metro like Mumbai would be so oblivious or should I say unmindful of the consequences of his/her decision...Its sad that CVs project college going adults as extremely impulsive kids with no time for introspection...Samrat was one of the first to jump at the offer of Gunjan taking up the movie offer..its BASIC facts that an actor spends more than 12 hrs shooting and is completely in the public eye as far as personal life is concerned..and gossips and rumors are mundane...these days 12 yr olds grow up on gossip magz n channels..so the CVs want us to believe that the young people being represented in the show just take impulsive decisions based on their instinct not weighing it out....really sad..why just movies..any proffession would demand time investment..so in all cases would Samrat get insecure n feel the same
secondly there are multiple posts on samrats emotional turmoil and his reaction n etc etc ..but no where did I see one post which could imply that all said n done what samrat did was not right...coz that poor reporter was just doing his job..its his bread n butter...again I blame the CVs such incidents are glorified unncessarily on pretext of a troubled lead character....its hopeless to even expect some sort of professional dignity...I thought maybe showbiz being their own industry they could interpret it better..but nope they r messin it up here again
finall Y did I chose to ruin yer post 🤣 million dollar question...lemme think abt that 🤣
Sonali 🤗 you finally came out of hiding!!!!!
And you haven't ruined my post! I LIKE disagreements ... it would be boring if everyone agreed on everything 😆😆😆
Okay, your first point ... I agree that Sam has been completely oblivious to the fact that once Gunjan started the movie, she was not gonna be with him 24/7 ... and it's hitting him rather belatedly ... he always was a bit of a dhakkan!!!
I also agree that any profession she took up would have had the same results ...
I had this discussion with someone else - why have the Cv's shown acting ... for two reasons, - one, it's about the only thing they could show her taking up as a profession right now - if she took up an academic or office career, they need to wait five years to show these problems cropping up of Gunjan balancing professional and personal life ... cos however much I love Gunjan, even I can't swallow her becoming corporate hotshot at age 18/19!!! 😉 And I think that is the basic premise of this track - how Samrat handles Gunjan going away from him because of work - she would never distance herself for any other reason, but she would be dedicated to her work whatever field she chose, and this
would be a problem at that time. Since this is a college based show, this is the field they chose.
The second thing - not only is it time committments that are taking her away, but also the fact that she is getting so well known so quickly, and being linked with other people - again difficult to show in a corporate job - office romances always happen, but with the SG bond, it would be very difficult to show Sajan getting affected by such things. This kind of field is the best to show such issues - probably the ONLY way to show such issues ...
and this is keeping in mind that the main premise of this track is to get rid of the last of Sam's insecurities and get (hopefully) an SG engagement, committment ... something, anything like that at the end of this track!!!
Why is he shown so neurotic ... because of his childhood ... simple. Any psychology student will tell you that children from broken homes
always have these insecurities in them, that they are somehow the cause of their parents' divorce, that they are at fault, and that if their parents could leave them, will anyone else love them enough to stay with them ever. And many kids from broken homes also land up having troubled relationships for the same reason. Samrat's case is exaggerated for dramatic effect, but not overly so.
About the reporter - now there I agree with you completely!!! Samrat WAS wrong to punch the reporter - no question about that. and i liked the way Neil handled that part - saying that everything else we can manage, but Samrat will have to apologise to the reporter, for his own sake, if nothing else. I think the "for his own sake" was more to convince Gunjan to persuade Samrat to apologise ... and that will push her to persuade Samrat because her fear is for the repurcussions on Samrat more than anything else ... though she also knows that Samrat did the wong thing by assaulting the guy who was just doing his job.
Though I have less sympathy for these gossip journos ... but they don't need to be punched!
