**Viewbie's Note: Please discuss anything about campaigning for SEVEN, petitions and etc here as we do not want multiple posts on this subject, thank you 😊 **
Hey friends! This is qw122. I am a citizen of India and am as crazy and passionate about Seven as all of you. It was such fun and relief to find so many Seven fans when I joined the group. I have always been a passive member of the group, but the fact that Seven may end soon due to "low TRPs" has forced me to write this. You know it is so frustrating to see that new, original and intelligent shows like Seven have to shut down, while brainless reality shows and meaningless soaps continue to thrive on the Indian television.
As evident from all of your comments, none of us here wants Seven to discontinue and want the producers to bring out Season 2 as soon as possible. But for this we'll have to form a strategy and act as a united forum for Seven.
So, why not draft letters for Yash Raj Entertainment and Sony T.V. collectively and send it to them so that they may know that "popular support" is with Seven? In specific, we should deal with the following points-
1. Poor publicity provided by Sony channel- First of all, the producers and the channel need to know that Seven does not lack in content. It has not been able to reach a wide range of audiences because it was not advertised properly.
a) After the initial weeks, no promos were aired for the show.
b) The storyline is so tight that people who did not watch the initial episodes are not able to follow the show later on. So, when the show had started, the channel should have aired the episodes of Seven repeatedly (during the daytime atleast when they show only CID episodes) so that more people were attracted to the show.
c) Even now, the repeat of Seven airs at 11 p.m. on Monday nights (in India), which, I think, has also been discontinued to telecast repeats of Indian Idol. Thus, current viewers who miss even one episode are at sea at understanding what's going on in the show.
2. Prospect of Season 2- The creatives need to be convinced how badly the fans are waiting for the new season, which, if marketed properly, will no doubt attract new viewers as well.
a) Although the characters, cast and the basic structure of the show should remain the same, the storyline should not be very much dependent on/related to Season 1, so that new viewers may also understand and appreciate the show.
b) The episodes of Season 1 can also be aired again at any suitable time (just like the episodes of CID are being aired now), which would again increase the viewership.
3. DVDs of Season 1-This,actually, has not got much to do with the campaign. But, since the Yash Raj people are following the Western concept of seasons and they also have their own DVD company (Yash Raj Home Entertainment), we may as well request them to bring out DVDs of Seven (Season 1), as is the practice in the West. What say?
So guys, what do you think of the SOS campaign? Do you want to add something more? Plzzzzz, give your comments as soon as possible ( till May 3) ,so that we might bombard the creatives with our letters(collectively as well as individually), and then, I am sure, they would definitely hear us out.(We can even draft a common letter on the forum and send copies of it to the creatives through our individual e-mail addresses.)
P.S.-BTW, as I am not much of a net user, could you tell me the fill forms of GOTW and BOTW ?
