Hello all,
It's seems like dejavu, to post something on IF again after such a long time. Any of my KS members still here(anyone still remember me)? Never thought i would come back to IF after i quit KS, but hey you guys MADE me come back, don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing.
Before i start, let me tell everyone whose "fan" i am, so guys can "judge" me based on that. Because i know for sure i am going to be called names or be accused of being biased, or get some sarcastic replies(don't even deny that doesn't happen on the forum). I look forward to those btw.
I am a fan of Armaan and Sid(not sure about the current track though). It's like I LOVE ARMAAN AND LIKE SID, but i LOVE both Karan singh grover and Karan wahi, both are equally adorable.
My opinion on the current track: Hate ridhima, feel sorry for Armaan, and mixed feelings about Sid.
Now to the reason why i am posting this. The entire discussion about the "originality" issue. We ALL know that DMG has ALWAYS copied scenes from movies, and we all discussed it from the very beginning. There wasn't a big issued made because it sometimes worked and didn't sometimes, but mainly because we got to see Armaan and ridhima together.
The reason why I think that AR fans are upset with Sid and ridhima having similar scenes to that of Armaan and Ridhima's:
1) AR fans are already going through the emotional turmoil of not seeing their favorite characters together, and now the scenes they associate with AR are being used for SR, so that was bound to get an emotional response too.
2) AR fans have ALWAYS had issues with the "copied" scenes from one actor to the other, whether it be shilpa, sukirti, or Jennifer. People have ALWAYS commented on who looked better doing those scenes, but it never turned into this big of a fight because in the end it was always about AR. So, this isn't the first time this is happening (for all those who think it's only because it concerns Sid).
3) If they really want to show Sid and ridhima together, why can't they copy other scenes from a million movies that are out there? Why use the same scenes they used for AR? I think that's the main issue here. It would be less painful for AR fans to watch SR on screen if the scenes already picturized on AR aren't recycled with SR. I am not saying AR have a copy right on them or anything, it's just that it hurts to see the same scenes you loved on AR shown on SR.
4) The main reason why Sid is compared to armaan is because when the new season of DMG started, Sid's character was supposed to be based on Armaan's, and there is no use denying it.
Here are some articles where Karan wahi himself says that his character is based on Armaan:
i) http://www.india-forums.com/tellybuzz/article.asp?id=5530 - In this one he says, "So let me clear this fact that I'm not replacing Karan Grover although my character is very similar to his when it comes to having fun."
ii) http://www.indya.com/news/newsDetails.aspx?xfile=2009/September/News_20090907_28 - In this one he says, "I play Sidhhant, who is a new intern at the hospital. He is intelligent, witty, loving and has a personality like Armaan's."
I don't know if there are other articles out there, but these are the two i could find.
The entire point of this post, comparisons are bound to happen. AR fans obviously feel hurt, and it's not about "originality" issue, but about hurting AR fans by showing same scenes as they did for AR. Some people may use different words to express their concern, but i am sure that the Sid bashing would be 50% reduced if the AR scenes aren't used on SR. And plus, wouldn't SR fans be happy to see SR on screen if they copied some other movie scenes, instead of the scenes they used on AR already?
One more thing, Armaan is NOT god, i don't know how that is even an argument for some, but just thought i would clarify that, and save some people time from typing that.
You are ALL welcome to bash me or my post, but please please please DON'T bash each other.
As i said, i like both Armaan and Sid, and i have NOTHING against either of those two.
