She's been known as a tough task master, now it turns out Ekta Kapoor can play practical jokes too!

14 October, 2004 is one day which none of the Kahaani... actors are bound to forget for a long while.

Almost all of them were called in for shoots at different times on that day, with a gap of half hour between each.

The three elderly ladies of the cast arrived first and were taken inside the trailer van. "Kahaani... mein twist lana hai. Aap mein se ek ko marna hai. Who is ready to die?" was the poser put to them.

Naturally, none of the three wanted to sacrifice their role. Two of them started weeping. Eventually, Dadi agreed to die. The death scene was shot.

A similar procedure was then followed for Krishna (Sachin). "Hey dude, you guys are going too fast. Couldn't you have told me a little before? You want to shoot the death scene today itself? Are you guys sure of what you're doing? Anyway, if the script demands it, go ahead." The death scene was shot.

Parvati (Sakshi Tanwar), Om (Kiran Karmarkar), nobody was spared. In fact, that's where the rumours of Om's departure from the serial originated.

What was Ekta's plan? Why did she carry out this exercise? To catch the impromptu reactions of every actor on cameras hidden inside the vans!!!

While some of the actors may have shed tears, some of them are said to have uttered a few uncharitable things as well!

Naturally, Ekta saw the entire nine hour footage in the privacy of her office, including how the death scenes were shot and how each of them reacted.

The unique touch of this entire exercise is that a half hour episode, culled out of the footage will now be screened on Wednesday, in the anniversary special episode of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii.

Of course, whatever will be shown, has been done keeping the actor's image in mind. Goes without saying that a lot will be edited out, considering that some of the actors concerned may even feel embarrassed to face Ekta after their outbursts.

Just in case you're wondering how the actors got ready to shoot the death scene without their co-actors around, it was simply because they were told that they were shooting single promos for the time being.

Whether an innocent 'bakra' spoof, or an insensitive practical joke, to say that the Kahaani... team is still to get over it, would be an understatement!
