Ashok-Naina: Why doesn't he...?

We see in the latest episode that Ashok doesn't want to marry Naina, which honestly came as something of a surprise to me. Just like her, I'd thought that they were working towards marriage of course, and since their relationship is mature and thus serious, Ashok can't possibly have understood it as casual? I'd have thought that if Isha had okay-ed them seeing each other, she'd also have realized that at their respective ages, it would most likely lead to marriage and so she'd have been okay with that too. But it seems like Ashok doesn't think so.

Why is he so hesitant? Is it really because of Isha? Is there another reason? Am I just reading too much into this? 😛😆 What do you think will be Isha's reaction to hearing the news?

On another note, loved that Naina proposed and that too so spontaneously 😛 'twas cute! Her 'put a ring on it' or loose it stand was good to see. Really like the independent, straight-forward attitude that this character has (:

I guess he's really worried abt what isha will think, coz she reacted very badly when her dad announced that he has a girlfriend.He doesn't seem to have taken the relationship as a casual thing, considering how he changed his appearance for naina and all that. Moreover, ashok seems to have started dating a long time after his wife's death, and naina is his first girlfriend.

I really liked the way naina proposed- she is a mature woman of the world and seems to know what direction she should take her life towards. As for isha, i think she will give in, coz she really seems to like naina now.

Honestly I think it was Ashok that doesn't want to get married and so he's using Isha as an excuse not to pursue the matter. Like you mentioned once Isha grew comfortable with their relationship she is now totally open with Naina and everything that I really doubt she'd oppose to them getting married.

Naina is amazing. I loved the way she stood up and left with Ketan and wanted to talk to Isha herself. The way Ashok kept telling her not to, just reconfirmed my doubt that HE doesn't want to get married..

@black: Very true! And it's exactly because of those things that I thought he'd be eager to get married. He himself is very invested in this relationship.

@red: Well said 😊 I find it admirable that she knows what she wants, works towards it and makes firm decisions.

Ansh_Arti and Aish, I too definitely think Isha will react positively to it, which is why Ashok's apprehension threw me off a little. But then again, as you said, maybe it's just his fatherly instincts kicking in and making him feel like breaking such a news or taking this step will be difficult for Isha. Let's see, she should be finding out next week, most probably (:

That is exactly the vibe I was getting! It felt like he was trying to cop-out of the situation. Hmm, but then again, I'm always getting vibes that end up being totally off, like Sureena being a gold-digger 😆 So I thought maybe it was just me with my conspiracy theories, but yay for someone else feeling it too! 😛 Although I can't really think of a reason why Ashok wouldn't want to get married, seems a mystery.

No, I think its psychological. i think Ashok is a little hesitant over a second marriage himself. I dont think he is worried for what Isha thinks and all. The reason why is beccause he knows Isha gave her approval to it. If he wanted to marry her, and he was concerned for Isha, he would have told Naina that wouldnt he? I think its himself thats fearing a second marriage. He might be scared.

He's definitely using Isha as an excuse....he seems to be afraid of taking the next step towards marriage....he's otherwise fully committed to Naina....but the idea of getting married again seems to scare him for some reason that I couldn't fully understand in this epi either....he isn't exactly 'single' so we can't really say that he wanted his 'freedom' of being single and all that based on Avantika's little speech.

I could totally understand Naina's reaction....it was obvious he was stalling and clutching at straws to avoid the situation....he deserved what he got.....Power to Naina indeed! lol

I guess they will continue exploring the storylines from this week into next week as well.....even the Akshay-Juhi case....lol

IMHO, I don't think Ashok wants to get married for the second time. He was married once to Isha's mom and was very much in love with her. After she died, he took care of his daughter and raised her all by himself. He has a good relationship with his daughter, Isha who is all grown up now and independent. At this stage in his life, Ashok craves love and companionship which he finds in Naina. Marriage for him is not important..."been there...done that". He is ready for the next phase in his life....that is to be "NANU"....Getting married again doesn't hold as much fascination for him as it does for Naina. For Naina, it will be her first marriage and like every woman, she will want to have kids of her own. In fact, she proposed to Ashok right after she saw him interact with the kids in the restaurant. Naina's eagerness and Ashok's reluctance is understandable. Having said this, I think in the future episodes, we will see Ashok and Naina get married. I think Ashok and Naina love each other and do not want to lose each other..
