So guys.. what do you think..

Will Rishta.com still preserve the indian tradition of getting the lead actors romantically involved (which I really don't have a problem with =D)
or
Do you think Rishta.com will head the other way and keep the chemistry between Rohan Mehra and Isha Milchandi to their cute slap on the arm and frindly hi-5's?!
(which I don't have a problem with either!)

Rohan is not going to fall for Isha anytime soon....or so I hope.....It will be nice to see them together eventually (and by eventually I mean in about 5-6 years from now, which I know isn't going to happen since the show will probably be cancelled after this season, but I digress).....For now though, I would much rather see them developing their friendship even further, because honestly, to me they only seem like casual friends thus far.....The writers need to build a much stronger emotional connection b/w them before they even think about getting them into a relationship.....Plus, I haven't ever felt any romantic tension b/w them.....So far they've had a very friendly and platonic kind of chemistry.....if such a platonic vibe is to be transformed into sexual tension, it needs more time.....Two people don't usually go from being good pals one day with no UST whatsoever to seeing each other in a romantic light the next.....These things take time to develop.....However, since R.com will be ending after this season, I'd prefer that the last scene of the show be of Rohan and Isha....and that scene could be done in such a way which enables it to be left open for interpretation......That would satisfy both fan groups I think.....Those who want to see RI end up together can view their final scene as a kind of new beginning for them, and those who prefer that RI remain friends only can have hope that they don't get together due to the ambiguous way in which the scene could be filmed....

LOL but since when did it solely become an 'indian tradition' for the leads in a show to be paired up together?? loll....I think there are countless examples of english shows in which the leads end up getting together too....

That aside, anything's possible....this question can be asked after pretty much any R.com epi....lolll....there is no guaranteed answer.

@Shumi: I agree with you.....although I think their friendship has developed better in the past 5-6 epis....they were much more casual in the beginning epis....I do see a progress from that time with a better build-up towards a possible romantic storyline.....and they are dropping more obvious hints with the recent epis especially.....I have a feeling they just might tie it all up by the final epi.....I don't see RI as being a pair with major UST anyways.....the show just had a different sort of vibe from the beginning.

Yeah, Anu....Though I haven't seen all the epis of the show, I have seen enough episodes to notice some development in RI's friendship from the beginning of the show to now, which is nice :-).....I guess I still want to see more development before things heat up b/w them.....I mean, I don't think we've ever seen Rohan and Isha interact with each other too much outside of their work....Their friendship seems almost limited to their profession, which is fine otherwise, but it is an issue if they're going towards romance.....oh well....I think the show still has about 10 epis left, so they still have a lot of opportunities to continue to develop RI's friendship till the end.....And you're right.....I don't think RI were the kind of pair that were ever intended to have a lot of sexual angst from the beginning.....could just one of those things that develops over time.....and maybe, now with the possibility that Rohan may have had some feelings for her earlier on in their friendship, we may get to see some of that angst.....let's see where they're going with these two....

@Shumi: I agree that usually their friendship is shown to be limited to their work together only....this was a point that did bug me a lot around the beginning 5-6 epis vis a vis relationship development when it came to RI....but I don't know why exactly...either I've gotten used to the kind of relationship they have (lol) or they've given their relationship more depth in the epis after that....they have shown them interacting outside of work....e.g. the epi when all four of them go out for drinks one evening....or the most recent epi where they showed RoSha sitting on the bonnet of that car in the ending credits....little things like this are showing some development on that front I guess....so I can now envision them working towards that culmination point.....which I earlier would have found too random.....lol....yeah they still have 10 epis to go....still a lot they can show and plenty of time to bring things to a proper culmination as well....

One thing I think they've shown well though....even though usually RoSha's interaction is limited to the workplace or the cases they work together on....they do know each other quite well.....they show good examples of this from time to time

Oh yeah, their little moment on the bonnet of the car in the epi last week seemed really cute.....but it's little things like that I wish were shown in the epi itself, instead of the in the end credits.....They do seem to know each other quite well.....I guess that's cuz they've been friends for about seven years or so.....I wish their history of their friendship gets explored soon on the show....

I'm curious to see how the writers are planning on building a romantic arc in the story (if that is their intention after all)....I do like the fact that the show is hardly ever predictable, and even when you think they're going down a cliche route, they manage to put on a spin on it that gives the story a kind of edge....it's very refreshing to watch.

@Shumi: I love that about this show too.....they don't really resort to cliches....and a lot of times they do things so simply and refreshingly....I think that's one of the main charms of the show.....and yes, they do seem to surprise us from time to time...in a good way....lol.....

For example, they kind of did an 'eyelock' scene with RoSha a few epis back....but I found it to be so simply and cutely done.....little things like Isha still giving Rohan suspicious looks wondering what he's up to even as Rohan is at his charming best...and then finally slapping his hand away....lol....this is what made for a fun scene :-)

I think they are already kind of subtly building a bit of a romantic arc....maybe it will intensify more towards the final 2-3 epis of the show....

I'll enjoy RoSha in any avatar though.....lol....they're adorable together :-)

@Anu: Lovely caps! I really liked that moment, it was adorable.....their expressions there especially is nothing you'd expect out of an 'eye-lock' moment in most other soaps and that's why it is a perfect example of the edge the show has that makes it so different.....

I also like the RI relationship the way it is now.....and I wouldn't mind either way if the writers do or do not chose to build towards a romance by the end....the show is good despite the lack of romantic tension.....that's not something I can say for most other shows....
