Then as we know, everything fell apart, including the father-son relationship.
I have one relatively good question, I think:
Why didn't Karan ever sit down with his father, not antagonize him, and seriously talk about his relationship with Abha? Why didn't Karan pull the father card--that is, why didn't he say "please, if you love me and want to see my happiness, then you will let me marry Abha". I feel as if their relationship is so combative all the time, and this has resulted in Jagmohan's neurosis about losing his son to Abha. Why does Karan not say that "papa, I love you, I will always love you, but please don't deny this one happiness to your son. Don't make me have to choose because I will lose either way."
Out of all the sons, Karan is the one who could have the closest relationship with Jagmohan. He is communicative, loving, loyal, and pure. And remember, Karan is most like his mom, whom I'm assuming Jagmohan loved very much. Maybe that's why Jagmohan partly freaked out about losing his son, in addition to revenge against Thakur.
The more Karan taunts him, the more crazy Jagmohan gets. It's so counterproductive that I'm surprised Karan isn't taking it into account. Perhaps, Karan believes, rightly so, that he is doing what is right. If only Karan could prove how much he loves his father without having to give up Abha.
And wait until Karan finds out about the contract. Forget a woman scorned--hell hath no fury like a son-in-love scorned, I guess.
What do you guys think?
