Zinta's Pretty Magic on Indian Idol
There is masti and magic in the air. The episode opens with the group singing and dancing to the beat of Bhoom ro bhoom ro shyam rang bhoom ro… and the audiences are transported to the picturesque locales of Kashmir. Amidst thunderous applause, walks in the svelte & stunning Preity Zinta, the special guest on Sony Entertainment Television's Indian Idol Series 2. Preity came, saw and cheered throughout for the Indian Idol contestants. After some hectic promotional tours around the country, rigorous riyaaz that begins at the crack of dawn, makeover sessions, mental & physical training, power-packed voice training and song practices, the seven finalists Amey, Meenal, Antara, Ravi, Karunya, Sandeep and Anuj confessed that Preity's visit was really worth looking forward to.
"She's so cute and her dimples…aah!" said Karunya, at a loss of words at the very thought of Zinta. While Karunya's performance was flawless, Amey like always was cheered and lauded by the three judges, for the selection of his song, Rang de basanti…(a difficult song, but Amey was simply fabulous). He was also appreciated for his movements while rendering the song and received an encore from choreographer- cum- director Farah Khan
The Bollywood beauty expressed her happiness and excitement on being a part of the Mega Talent Hunt, Indian Idol. "It was very difficult to judge and give points to such talented singers…it was unfair to nit pick such perfect singers! I was there as a judge not to discourage them but to encourage them!" said Preity. A keen observer, Preity noted how Meenal Jain gave a flawless performance even when the camera wires were coming in between her feet! "I am so happy to have come to Indian Idol, the performances were mind-bowling especially from Karunya," she said.
Anuj Sharma, from Himachal, gave one of his best performances after his comeback. Filled with pride and admiration for the actress, who also hails from Himachal, he could not resist his desire and sang a specially composed song for Preity. Antara, the small town girl, with her folk number from Lamhe held the 3 judges spell-bound. Preity cheered Antara and said she hoped some day she would playback for her!
The competition is heating up and the contestants are getting better each time. The judges continue to appeal to the viewers to vote for the best singer. Each week is taking them nearer to the big title. They continue to give performances- par- excellence and wait for the verdict. The viewer is the judge and it is your Final Verdict that will take them closer to their DREAM-of becoming the Indian Idol.
