I had initially posted this as a comment on someone's post, but after reading all the comments on the forum this evening, was tempted to post this again as a separate topic!

I have watched DMG from the start, and then off and on, and now, mostly off!

I thoroughly enjoyed watching and loved AR perhaps because for the first time, Indian television portrayed the madness and passion that is so characteristic of a first love so sensitively and beautifully. And it was the classic love story - playboy debonair suave boy and the straight forward, no nonsense, pretty, traditional girl -wonderfully told.

And then Ridhima changes, creative-star hassles, KSG episodes and what all happened and whether you liked it or not the new intern gang happened and before you knew SR happened.

Yes some SR scenes are powerful, there is magic in some of them but sometimes I feel the CVs rushed their "falling in love". When I say this, let me clarify, I am neither an AR or SR fan but just a viewer making an observation, hopefully unbiased!

I don't know, but the pace of realisation of love between SR initially seemed forced to me.

Sid on a rebound from Tammana, and, Ridhima nursing a broken heart and guilt towards her parents, have sought a balm in this unexpected and unplanned relationship. But my point is, WHAT's wrong with that? We all do - reach out and seek solace where and when we find it.

And their predicament with the advent of Ridhima's former love when she is bound to another, simply strengthens the bond between them... just like two conspirators find their bonds strengthening as they rally together...

Do I miss AR? Sometimes yes, sometimes even regret that they are not together cos they were a great love story, awesomely told, but life is also about second chances and moving on, not about always looking back and pining for what could have been. AR was Ridhima's past and SR is her present and we can't always live in the shadows of our past.

SR do have a relationship, and one that shows all promises of being a satisfying, happy and deep one. Two people, thrown together by circumstances and their own foolishness, seek solace, comfort and love from this. That doesn't make it above or below, less or more than an earlier one. Sure it may not be as passionate and fiery as AR was but SR has the potential to be stable, loving and fulfilling and passionate in its own sense and pace and in its own time.

If AR was young hot blood, SR are mature sentient beings, if AR was passion, SR are serendipity....

I like what you wrote.......and I feel too that you cant compare them....granted that Ridhima is the common link...but the ridhima who fell in love with Arman...is different from the Ridhima..who married Sid.........
Ridhima changed..... from being a girl with beautiful dreams to a woman who got a second lease on life.....
AR and SR are two different stories.....that happened under different circumstances........both beautiful in their own right
SR story never got a chance to blossom......Cvs have had a lot to do with what happened no credit to them....
But two things are definately true....AR is a classic love story timeless....and SR story is a story of hope and second chances
I hope I dint digress from the point you were trying to make...if I did..my apologies😳

You know I often see posts seperating AR as the young and passionate couple while SR are termed as the mature ones. But since when did they become mature exactly? Their fights were so forced and looked really pathetic. They got married and Sid acted like the biggest jerk, treated her like crap. Its only since Armaan returned have they made Sid in to this 'mature' guy. Otherwise his acts were more childish than Armaans ever were. I'm sorry but just because he is giving Riddhima space right now, it does not make their relationship more mature than Armaan and Riddhimas.

My own sister and brother in law remind me of AR's bantering relationship a lot at times and they are MARRIED. Yes they have their immature moments but they also have moments where no-one else but they can understand each other. Thats what Armaan and Riddhima about! They wouldn't have always remainded young and passionate. Instead they were slowly maturing down in to a couple who understood each other.

Giving second chances is fine but you can't just brush away a 2 year old love story especially when this marriage hasn't even developed in to love. Do we always have to accept whats thrown at us?? Maybe this is a way of telling Riddhima that she has a second chance with Armaan! Sid has this ability to move on anyway but Armaan recognised life after he met Riddhima. He doesn't know how to live without her.

Thats my POV anyway 😊

I agree. The SR relationship never got a chance to blossom. If anything else, initially it was forced, probably to create a story till they figure KSG was coming back, lol!

No matter what the reasons, SR are together now. Ridhima does not hate him, even if she doesn't love him! She respects him and has some affection for him. That itself is base enough to build a relationship.
I don't propagate staying in a loveless relationship – it's detrimental to all involved! But to not give even a chance to an existing relationship, where you do have faith and affection, just because an old one turned up, is being an escapist!

No one is denying that AR were awesome, they were the ultimate classic love story and I am sure many feel a twinge of regret at their not being together ' I know I do!

But you cannot live life on a belief; you cannot love without hope...
Love without hope, as when the young bird-catcher
Swept off his tall hat to the Squire's own daughter,
So let the imprisoned larks escape and fly
Singing about her head, as she rode by
Ridhima should have and has moved on..... we could argue till the cows come home about how long she should have waited... she probably would have except that a concatenation of events fueled by her own foolishness resulted in her taking that step away from Armaan earlier than she perhaps would have... but even that foolishness was fueled by Armaan's rejection of their love and unwillingness to put her through what he perceived would be misery. Her unbridled anger, her mad search for Armaan, her intolerance of all men other than Armaan, all arose from the perceived rejection by Armaan, no matter how altruistic his intentions were!
He never thought of their 2 years of togetherness and how much Ridhima would hurt at his excuse for leaving her? What is sauce for the goose has to be sauce for the gander! It works both ways ' if the two years of a relationship are a benchmark, then when it came to faith and trust it has to swing both ways!

lovely post! Finally a post that doesn't reek biased feelings.

I liked AR. I truly did. If Sid didn't enter the picture I still would've liked them. I wouldn't say they are the best couple I saw. (there have been other couples that made me insane) The thing that gets me about Siddhima is the satisfaction of winning. The fact that Riddhima was so insanely in love with Armaan makes it even better. I want to see that when life took something beautiful (armaan) away from Riddhima it would be replaced by something better.

We all lose people, friends, job, chances etc. We can hold on to those memories for life, hate the present and keep wishing to return to the past. Or we can move on make a brighter future, take new chances. I like the second option better. So I love to see it happen in TV too.

Beside I love how strong Siddhima is. Everything they did was so serious. They never had the chance to play silly teenager games because it always turned dead serious.

well topicmaker from all that u've written i gathered u are an SR fan.......
so how much ever u try and justify ur views no one is gonna accept them and that's the fact
so..... lets get real 😉

and besides, i don't think the CV's have half the analytical judgement capabilities and the ability to know the depth of the characters the audience have so chill....
i swear do u honestly think they read deep into everything they show?? !! total bullshit !!!

they are just gonna keep showing us misconstruing, on-the-surface, half-baked stuff....
and sadly everyone watches it not coz the story grips them (yeah right !!! 🤣) but coz they want to see the outcome of the story....

so take a chill pill..... support ur fav pair or fav actor.. and revel in the mess !!!👏
