Personal Struggles/Problems Should Be Kept Away...

From Season 1 to Season 2 I've been noticing that contestants personal life and early childhood struggles are mentioned. And everything that is mentioned about them about their hardships and challenges that they had to overcome becomes more of an emotional voting factor! I have to say that 98.5% of the population has gone through a lot of struggles and hardships in their life! I mean that's what life is all about! But when you're on a stage like DID, I highly feel that those problems and struggles should be kept personal and private AND not disclosed to the general public only because sometimes this emotional technique gets to the voters! Personal issues should stay personal! I mean that's why they are termed PERSONAL! Outside the DID stage it doesn't matter is personal matters are discussed. But because we are on a munch with the audience voting, personal matters shouldn't be disclosed! Because then it just seems like an emotional technique is being used to grab the votes when in reality that is not such the case! In most cases the contestants are not at fault because it is always someone else (whether it be the masters, grandmasters, host, or someone else) who brings up the topic of what happened in the past and all the struggles they had to go through. Life is all about getting up and overcoming the hardships, struggle, and pain! But when you are on a munch like DID its not right to start bringing up personal matters to sway the public towards you! Just my two cents on the issue because its been happening a lot on Season 1 and into Season 2. Although its a lot better on Season 2 because it hasn't happened as much as it did in Season 1. What are your views on the issue?

I actually quite agree. I didn't watch DID 1 so I couldn't tell you about it, but, I feel as though it has had some impact on who gets eliminated on DID 2.

Agreed. As we all know, Zee loves to add emotional moments in their reality shows. But in the end it should be left out whatsoever. The contestants are there because of talent, and the focus should be on that-only!
That just means that some people get more exposure than the rest, and that's not fair. Like, i do feel for them, but at the same time others get caught up in their stories and vote for them i guess for motivation ...but then again what about talent?

I completely agree with u.

I don't believe any of the drama they show. And the world of tv is very disgusting ...so most of it COULD even be fake!

I am an avid watcher of So You Think You Can Dance, both Canadian and USA shows, I even worked for them back-stage.

And they dont really reveal anything about the contestants, they show them being happy and working hard in their rehearsals. Sometimes they do mention some stories of contestants who faced some sort of extenuating circumstance, but those stories are not shown in a "feel sorry for me and vote for me"...Its shown as a lesson and as in a positive light!!!!

yes iagree as these factors contribute in voting & in the end the most talent & deserving looses out
i feel this time the crown should go to the multi talented shakti, she has amazed me with her variety & she excells in each & every form of dancing
her attitude, determination, hard work & strong will to better every form of dancing is just superb & she has the wow actor, the girl is the true owner of taqdir ki topi
im baffled why the not so talented darmesh is getting high votes as he failed to impress in any form of dancing & has only excelled in his own form of dancing
i feel he is getting vote because of the hardship but he is not alone there are many out there who struggle, we are here to pick & contribute in choosing the most talented & desrving dancer & so far by looking at the performances its shakti, so i wish the public stops this sympathy nonsens & starts voting for the worthy contenders
i felt last years voting was the worse possible, alisha was by far the better dancer, salman won the show purely for his looks, which was disturbing, as there were far better dancers than him in the show
