Hi Sneha! I'm fine, actually not 🤔 😆 How about you?
I do agree that Dharmesh lacks expressions, it's very true. Infact, I've always said that as a contestant, he is overrated and certainly doesn't deserve spot # 1. Yes, his performances in other dance fields may not have beeen as good as his hip hop performances, but certainly not bad. I particularly enjoyed watching the 'Rasiya' and the Krishna-Kalia performance. His duet with Binny was commendable too.
As far as Shakti is concerned, I agree that she's good at whatever she does, and I did love some of her performances like the Paso Doble and her duet with Jack, but then at one point all of them started resembling each other so much that it became difficult to view her performances as different segments. Every performance that she does is woven around her comfort zone in such a way that she can do it brilliantly without faltering in the middle. The only performance that seemed 'different' was the Bharatnatyam performance which was not even qualified to be termed as 'classical'. I think you'd know what I'm talking about. As a classicaly trained dancer myself, I found it really jarring to see her perform baby steps with loud expressions on her face.
Being a strong contestant, alot more is expected from Shakti. Plus like I said, I don't see why Dharmesh needs to be mentioned in order to shed light on Shakti's strong points? Will Shakti step out of her zone only when Dharmesh starts giving expressions? Viweing Shakti solely as a contestant, I feel she needs to show more versitality. Actually this is more of a suggestion directed towards Terence than Shakti herself. He needs to bring out other aspects too. Contemporary is an over-used dance form in DID already, and if majority of Shakti's performances are contemporary, then naturally she'd be labeled as limited.
And I agree about Kruti. I used to dote on her earlier, but now that she's gone, none of them are really my 'favourite'. Amrita is defenitely underrated, she needs to be given more credit. Her passion and enthusiasm are contagious :)

Shakti should do Contemporary as long as she wants to, unless she decides to ditch dancing in the future. She did a three year diploma course in Contemporary dancing, and is one of the best students graduated from TLCDC. Why should she stop doing Contemporary?! I love love love watching Contemporary, and when it's done by Terence or Shakti or Mayuresh or Punit, it's even more magical to me!! I would love it if Shakti keeps on doing Contemporary every week!! If it was not for versatility, I would have seen several more Contemporary acts from her by now, instead of her trying Hip-hop, Bollywood, Indian, Urban, Lyrical, etc. Looking at the numbers that have been missed with other dance forms, the remaining weeks are not enough for her to make up for it...

Actually not Neetz?... Why not? We should always be as fine as we can, isn't it? 😆 Just kidding, hope everything is alright. Sometimes, I feel life sucks too, especially when you've got your boards in 5 months and your whole life ahead, but all you're doing is looking at school books, tuition books, and more books, books and books... 😆
Oh definitely, I never found Dharmesh to be bad either. All dancers are undoubtedly very good in whatever they attempt to do. There's a reason why they're a part of Top 18 or otherwise in this dance show. I wouldn't in any instance defy the capabilities of either master when choosing the contestants, even if I may not have been totally happy with one or two choices. If Dharmesh has made it this far, he can't obviously be mediocre. I've always said I love him in his choreography for example, where you see in the heart in the dance.
Well for Shakti, all I'd say is that I was very much like you too in the beginning. I found everything quite similar to each other, but then, I realised. If you look closely, each and every dance form has something or another in common with another dance, since it's "dance" at the end of the day. I realized that Hip Hop did match contemporary sometimes, therein the creation of lyrical Hip Hop. I remarked that if you perform a certain style of contemporary, steps from Ballroom Dancing, or vastly different Indian Classical can be done. It's really funny, but almost so magical at the same time as well, and definitely very interesting to watch or research on. The reason why I respect Terence so much for his knowledge.
Ditto about contemporary being an over-used form in DID too. But then, as Akku said, I think if the audience likes watching something, and that something is done excellently and pleasantly. There's really no harm. Of course one needs to try new stuff to be able to prove his/her versatility, and I agree Shakti should do, but then, as Ishu said, it's been quite a while except for last week, that Shakti has been doing different stuff. Oh steps here and there must have seemed her forth as I said earlier on, but then, it's not her mistake as you said. Personally though, I found quite a brilliant effort from her since the past 4 weeks or so. Even her solo act on working women, or her duet with Jack in the box didn't seem that classic kind of contemporary to me, so personally, I really really enjoyed watching it. Nothing contesting that, she's an absolutely awesome dancer for sure!
Kruti was my favorite in girls, and not many over here know that. I actually never really doted on Shakti since the beginning. Just like I preferred Vrushali over Alisha too. One may be the better dancer, but the other was the better heart-stealer for me. The same happened with Kruti and Shakti if I may say so. Kruti touched my heart with her performances, just like Kunwar or Parvez did. Shakti's getting there for sure, but for me, she never had the initial charisma that Kruti had, that Vrushali had.

😃 So i am assuming you would be okay with Dharmesh sir doing hip hop every week too? and if that's the case the contest would come down between Shakti's contemporary and Dharmesh sir's hip hop. 😃

I havent complained about D doing hip-hop every week, and I have said that I prefer to see his own choreography (which is hip-hop) rather than see him doing Geeta's choreography. I have problems with some hip-hop steps, no matter who does it - I dont like to see it used often, but unfortunately guys tend to use that step more and I dont like it... Just my choice..
