Pakistan's legendary ghazal singer Ghulam Ali is in town and is recording a song for a Bollywood film.
Although his compositions have been used in Hindi films with or without his consent, it will be after almost a decade that the world renowned ghazal singer will be lending his voice for a Hindi film album.
Aadesh Srivastava, the music director of the film Ashq says that it wasn't really difficult for him to convince Ghulam Ali to sing for his film. "He was floored by my composition when he heard it on the phone. He immediately agreed to sing for the film. It is going to be the title song of the film," adds Srivastava.
Ghulam Ali too is all excited about coming to India to record this album. "It is not for the first time but definitely after a long time, I will be lending my voice for any Hindi film. There have been films like Aawargi and Nikaah wherein my ghazals have been used. I know I have a huge fan following in India and I'm grateful to them. I am also hoping that our creative geniuses will help in making the relationships between the two countries even more cordial. Am hoping and praying that Pakistanis too will get to see Hindi films there," he concludes
