'I want the fire in me to keep going,' she says excitedly, adding, 'Doing films is not a job for me because I love what I do and it gives me a lot of satisfaction and pleasure. I am better off facing the camera because I love it and I am well taken care on an off the sets. So I have no complaints.'
'I don't want to rest on my laurels because I am my biggest critic and am seldom happy with what I do. I don't want to get too comfortable as I'd rather work hard now,' she says. About the competition she faces from Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Deepika she replies, 'If I am good and constantly improving at what I do then, everything else, be it fans, movies, endorsements and money, it will all fall into place. I am here to concentrate on my life and career. I don't want to get into the number game and my work should speak for itself. I feel the best sense of achievement when I get appreciation for my work. It's such a high!'
Deepika is kicked about her upcoming films. 'Housefull is a comedy, Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se is a biopic and Break Ke Baad and Lafange Parinde have lots of romance with a fun element so I am very excited about them all,' she smiles.
