Heyman clears up Gary Oldman misinformation
Harry Potter Producer David Heyman confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Warner Bros. is currently "in negotiations" with Gary Oldman (Sirius Black) and that he will most likely return for the fifth film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
After Warner Bros. confirmed that Oldman would reprise his role in OotP two weeks ago, a statement from his manager saying that he had not yet signed a contract for the movie and would have to "pursue other employment" led to an uproar in the British media over the character of Sirius Black being "axed," and several rabid fans even started online petitions to boycott the film.
However, Heyman quashed these rumors earlier today, saying, "We're not shooting his part for quite a while, and as is always the case, you begin with the parts that are most pressing. We have every intention of having Gary Oldman play Sirius Black."
