Abhishek overjoyed at winning 'Worst Accent' award

Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan is a happy man after having won at least one award for his work in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's 'Delhi-6' - even if it was for the worst accent.

The actor was declared the winner of the Dara Singh Award for worst accent in 'Delhi-6' at the second annual Golden Kela awards, a spin-off on Hollywood's Golden Raspberry Awards, also known as the Razzies, which recognizes the worst in cinema.

The Golden Kela awards night was held In New Delhi on Friday (March 12) with funnyman Cyrus Broacha as the chief guest. None of the stars who were named for the awards were present at the event.

"Another milestone in my career. I won the Golden Kela award for worst accent in 'Delhi 6'. Chalo at least 'Delhi-6' won something. I'm overjoyed!" Abhishek posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Abhishek had no competitors for this special award.

Meanwhile, Abhishek's generosity has made him unforgettable to Shawn Arranha, director of the just- released film 'Hide & Seek'. Shawn can't get over the gift Abhishek had given him.

Shawn says he cannot forget what Abhishek has done for him. Ask him what makes him so sentimental about Abhishek and Shawn clams up.

Abhishek shed light on the great bonding with his buddy Apoorva Lakhia's former assistant.

"We were shooting for Apu's first film 'Bambai Se Aaya Mera Dost' where Shawn was assisting. We got chatting and he told me about this short film he had made with his friends. I saw it and I was bowled over. I gifted Shawn a video camera and wished him lots of great shooting with it."

Shawn said: "Getting acknowledged by Abhishek meant so much to me I can never forget his gesture. I've used the video camera for everything that I've done so far including 'Hide & Seek'."

Shawn has used Abhishek's gift to shoot all his short films. "I even shot some flashback portions and the film on the making of 'Hide & Seek' with Abhishek's camera."

Shawn now considers the camera his lucky charm. "I don't think I'll ever make a film without using it."

A special screening of 'Hide & Seek' is being arranged for Abhishek and Aishwarya as soon as they get the time.

But will the pair like a horror film?

"'Hide & Seek' is not a horror film. It's a thriller," asserts Shawn.
