A film on Rahul Mahajan's 'reality' marriage!

Director Ashwani Dhir of the just-released Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? finds Rahul Mahajan's reality marriage farcical and a mockery of marriage.

While a section of telly viewers who witnessed the live marriage of Rahul and Dimpy Ganguly on TV were happy to see it finally culminating, cynics and intellectuals saw it as a deterioration of Indian television. And one among them is Ashwini who is even planning a film on the same subject.

As he tells a tabloid, "Rahul Mahajan's wedding on camera made a mockery of the entire institution of marriage. What were these hopeful brides thinking when they danced in front of the bridegroom like nartakis while the bridegroom-to-be sat perched on a throne like an emperor checking out the apsaras in his durbar?"

Finding the entire show disgusting, Ashwini asks why Rahul wasn't made to dance in front of them.

A good question!

PS - Rahul Mahajan gets his passport back from a Delhi court; now he can fly to Maldives or anywhere else but strictly for his honeymoon and not for shooting purposes.
