It was only a few lakhs. 4 lakhs something for all the contestants in total. Not "millions" according to someone here on this forum.
Now you do the math.

Out of the total 1 billion population of India, 50% live below poverty line..thus according to statistics, approx 500 million are poor to even feed themselves. How on earth will they vote for D on a reality show.. 😕 Exaggeration at its best

I billion is a very big number even to just comprehend what it means. I'm not great with statistics either. It's just that i tried hard to prove my point to Mr.you-know-who here. 😉

ok in indian calculations

indian population crossed a billion..

so 500 million are below poverty line..wont vote

the other 500 million encompass people who are from 0-100+(yea there are people that way)

nearly 40% are wither below 15 or over 65..according to census..LOL

that leaves 300 million people in 15-64 age group

hindi speaking people constitute 41% of the population..bring 9 more percentage for the non hindi speaking population who might watch hindi shows

150 million in 15-64 might watch hindi shows

at over 35..most people dont care....so that makes 75 million people....all dont watch DID...at a 10% rate..7.5 million people...75 lakh people have a possibility of watching DID and voted...

4/75= around 5% of the population who watch DID MIGHT vote...and this includes people who vote multiple times zealously increasing their phone bill

so on a whole out of 1,100,000,000 people... 400,000 votes were there..which makes it a maximum possible value of 0.03%(thanks to google)
who decide the outcome

if the show is not rigged

why did I do this math...I was bored...
LOL...

In fact I am surprised that they only get around 4 lakhs votes every week when that's nothing when compared to the size of our population and the number of Zee subscribers!! I think they should be getting that number of votes from NRI voters alone!! Even in the Middle East itself, the viewers would be way over that number! Then adding UK, USA, Canada, etc will make the number of viewers to millions!! So it shows that people dont believe in votes and so they dont even bother to vote!! Then anyone who has a fanatic fan base to make thousands of votes every week can win the show easily. I have read somewhere that during SRGMP '07 show, Aneek's fan base in Calcutta set up several phone booths to make SMS votes... Same thing could happen for DID too...

Anyway, 4 lakhs total votes is a pitiful number imho for a show like DID... I hope the number would go up considerably in the coming weeks, else it wouldnt make sense when they are saying that the TRPs are high for the show...

Akanna

I am from the south as u knw...i can bet 90% of tamil nadu does nt care abt voting for hindi shows..... we just watch....
even when I was in undergrad, I have never heard my friend of friends friends or friends friends friends VOte...lol..we discuss and leave

im sure similar logic is applicable to a good 40% of the states that dont fall into the hindi belt....Im not being regional but there is no strong reason to vote for a lot of states

and yea 4 lakh is a meager number..and 4 lakh is the number of votes..the number of voters will b much lesser
