Wildcard Round: Anushka Manchanda

Excellent singing - perfect for the song. I loved the stylised the accent and the effervensence Anushka brought to this song. The mood was apt and infectious. There were places she could improve, like 'Tum saath gaao' where the high notes could have been hit better. There were also some parts which could have done with a bit more clarity.

However, the genre conventions for such a song don't expect the sort of gayaki required in a ghazal, so the slight inclarities and the stylised high pitches are to be expected. Even so, Anushka could have toned these two effects down and been flawless.

A very harsh 8 from me, for almost reaching flawlessness.

I somehow feel Anushka has had better songs. So will give her 8.

Good singing by a good singer.

She sang this song pretty well I guess. She got the right feel for the song, and did not leave any questions on what type of song this was supposed to be. Though, overall I think she could've sang better. Her voice quality wasn't that good for me in this song, and just overall just sang better. Nonetheless, she still sang well, and it was a difficult song to sing.
